First off, I enjoy The Faceless' latest album.

Leading from that point, would A Higher Place be worth the purchase price? Or are they too chuggy/breakdownish/unmemorable?

i dunno why you would reference the new faceless album with BOO. They suck comparatively. The acronym for their name BOO is very appropriate. Don't get it.

sure. although BOO's drumming, guitar player, and bass playing is ALL subpar in comparison to the Faceless. Not to mention their songwritting, AND their overall creativity. I fucking love the faceless... and i REALLY hate BOO. so there.

nah, actually, before i even heard/bought the faceless cd, i noticed both bands were on Sumerian Records. i was naive to assume theyd be similar in nature. ive only seen the video for "Now Arise" and I kinda like it. It's nothing to drool over, but, it's ok IMO. I just dont want to buy the album to find the rest of the tracks are chuggy filler...

on to another Sumerian band: Veil of Maya. Is their latest release worthy at all?

Veil of maya and born of osiris are completely interchangable to me. both mix boring chugga with wanky wanky and call it 'progressive deathcore'

as for BOO i'd say its worth checking out at least if you dig now arise. i really dig the album, not that its anything incredibly groundbreaking but for what they do its a solid release. i'll be the minority here i guess and give it a thumbs up, haha.
