PROSTHETIC RECORDS ANNOUNCES DIO-APPROVED CHARITY GUITAR AUCTION
All performers at label's SXSW showcase to sign Epiphone guitar, with proceeds to benefit the T.J. Martell Foundation
(Los Angeles, CA) At Prosthetic Records' South By Southwest (SXSW) showcase at Club Mohawk in Austin, Texas this Wed. (March 17), one attendee will win an Epiphone Prophecy Les Paul EX guitar signed by the groups who will perform throughout the evening. In the meantime, a second signed Epiphone guitar -- a Prophecy Futura Custom EX, to be exact -- has been posted for auction on eBay, with all proceeds benefitting the T.J. Martell Foundation, a non-profit organization that supports research for cancer, AIDS and leukemia.
The T.J. Martell Foundation was suggested to the label by none other than Ronnie James Dio. Like all metal fans around the world, Prosthetic was saddened to learn of Dio's diagnosis with stomach cancer late last year, so the label recently contacted the legendary singer's management to ask for a charity recommendation. Prosthetic was subsequently told that the T.J. Martell Foundation -- a 501(c)3 non-profit founded in the 1970s -- helped Dio receive key treatment in his ongoing battle against cancer. More information on the organization can be found at www.tjmartellfoundation.org.
Interested parties can bid on the auction or learn more about the guitar at this LINK.
Prosthetic's SXSW showcase at Mohawk (912 Red River Street, Austin,Texas) will be headlined by the Houston-based progressive instrumentalists Scale The Summit and also feature sets by Landmine Marathon, Withered, Book of Black Earth, The Funeral Pyre and the label's newest signing, Clinging To The Trees Of A Forest Fire. Special guests (and Austin's own) Lions of Tsavo will kick off the festivities at 7:20 p.m. The all-ages event is free to anyone with a SXSW badge or wristband; for everyone else, a limited number of $15 tickets will be sold at the door.
Founded in 1998, the Los Angeles-based Prosthetic Records has released nearly 100 albums to date, covering practically every subgenre of heavy metal. Highlights of the independent label's catalog include Lamb of God's seminal debut "New American Gospel" and their landmark follow-up "As The Palaces Burn," Gojira's groundbreaking "From Mars To Sirius," several reissues by thrash icons Testament and the entire discography of All That Remains, whose latest album "Overcome" debuted at #16 on the Billboard Top 200 and yielded the top 10 active rock hit "Two Weeks." Gonna see if I can get Dio to come in and yell at my dad's tumors; that's got to be better than chemo. |

Driving now to go pick up his pain meds from the house because the VA is too fucked to actually get him any on time. (Anybody need anything? LOL) |

Why would anybody want an autographed guitar? |
