going for a conference, mid-May.

never been to Seattle. Metal things to do / see?

toggletoggle post by arilliusbm  at Mar 2,2010 10:52am
Go to the fish market. Take pics of fish guts everywhere. Use for album art.
Go to the space needle. Eat with the silverware in the restaurant. I heard it's some quality metal.

There was a killer record store, the name of which escapes me at the moment.

toggletoggle post by arilliusbm  at Mar 2,2010 10:54am
Aye. I've heard of a good record store there as well.
Dunno though, never been.

toggletoggle post by goatcatalyst   at Mar 2,2010 11:00am
There's also a shitty hipster bar called the Cha Cha (or there was five years ago when I went) that is awesome to get thrown out of for throwing things, knocking things over and pissing in the corner.

toggletoggle post by thetruthaboutmuffdivers at Mar 2,2010 11:10am
Piss on Kurt Cobain's grave. (Aim for where you think his ass might be buried, I think I read that's your thing)

toggletoggle post by arilliusbm  at Mar 2,2010 11:19am
Am I the only fag here that appreciates Nirvana? bleach is a great album!

toggletoggle post by goatcatalyst   at Mar 2,2010 11:28am edited Mar 2,2010 11:35am
I'm with you, Jim. I've been on an Alice In Chains kick lately. Found a dope soundboard from Seattle 12/92. Pre-Superunknown Soundgarden and the first Pearl Jam also give me a pink sigil.

toggletoggle post by arilliusbm  at Mar 2,2010 11:32am
Nice.
Can you believe that shit was 20 years ago?

toggletoggle post by thuringwethil at Mar 2,2010 11:35am
HAHAHA no way, dude I love Nirvana!

I met Kurt before the shit storm. He was nice but quiet.

on the other hand, I wouldn't mind pissing on Eddie Vedder's ass,

toggletoggle post by goatcatalyst   at Mar 2,2010 11:37am
Makes a man feel old and bitter, don't it, Jim?

toggletoggle post by arilliusbm  at Mar 2,2010 11:54am
That album was so overplayed in the early to mid 90s.
Well, technically WBCN overplayed it for nearly 20 years.

toggletoggle post by arilliusbm  at Mar 2,2010 11:57am
Hendrix is from Seattle. I'm sure they got some cool shit devoted to him. Check that out?

toggletoggle post by arktouros at Mar 2,2010 11:58am
All I remember is Jnco's and NIN.

http://qualitybootz.blogspot.com/2008/04/a...chains-seattle-1992-soundboard.html

This site is fucking amazing if you have the time/patience to download upwards of ten rars, combine em and convert em from flac. The Zeppelin, Purple, Trower and GnR alone can (and has) keep a man busy for months. Some real gems here. Shit I'd pay $30 for back in the day.

Weren't Jncos late 90s mallcore attire?

toggletoggle post by arktouros at Mar 2,2010 12:00pm
no idea, big pants and shirts were the style... had an onion tied to my belt and a rectangle for a skateboard...

toggletoggle post by arilliusbm  at Mar 2,2010 12:02pm
Sweet. Thanks Ryanatio.

I spent too much time in the arcade in the 90s.
somebody needs to open up a retro arcade asap.

that is correct. no one really knew anything about Godflesh at the time, and they were touring for Streetcleaner. needless to say they made some fans.

when cash permits and something kicks my ass hard enough, i most certainly make the purchase. i download fucking everything, evaluate it harshly and buy the best of it. mp3's are no substitute for the real thing - artwork, lyrics, etc
