Crusader of centy for genesis.

Somewhat easy, but awesome. Sega's Zelda.

Just ask me on steam. I've got quite a few recs because that's all I play. Fuck xbox and ps3.

toggletoggle post by Sacreligion at Dec 15,2009 3:00pm
I was always a big fan of Snake Rattle N Roll. There was a Pirate game I used to play for Genesis all the time too, but that's not necessarily difficult. Just a lot of scenarios to play with. Super Mario World is always a good way to eat up time too.

toggletoggle post by reimroc at Dec 15,2009 3:01pm edited Dec 15,2009 3:31pm
I should probably just name off the games I HAVE beaten to help you guys out:

Silver Surfer
Battletoads
Blaster Master
Ghosts and Goblins
Ghouls and Ghosts
Super Ghouls and Ghosts
Chakan
Zombies ate my neighbors
Castlevania
Castlevania II(sucked my nuts)
Castlevania III
Castlevania IV
Castlevania: Bloodlines
Castlevania: Dracula X(also sucked my nuts)
Rocket Knight Adventures
Sparkster: RKA II
Smash TV
Various Mega Mans
contra
super c
strider
gunstar heroes
alien soldier
target earth

I know I'm missing a few but thats basically the whole list. No RPGs don't count as hard games.

I think Castlevania: Symphony of the Night is 32-bit but it's still a side-scroller and amazing. I've seen Yeti play that game more than anyone's ever played a video game. Ever.

Konami really did have the best overall music of the 16 bit generation. Castlevania and Gradius alone take the cake. All the other games just add to it.

Bowser's Inside Story IS awesome. I bought it on a whim for like 6 dollars + what was on my Edge card, played it for about an hour last night, and it is the balls. The tutorials are kind of lame (but necessary) but the gameplay is intense. Uses both screens and maps different buttons to different characters. There's lots of coordination, action/side-scrolling, and leveling up. I'm really impressed by it.

I prefer 0s and 1s on a hard drive over 0s and 1s on a cd.

Cd... With original artwork and packaging??

I will upload Jazz Jackrabbit2 for pc if you guys want. It was a sidescroller made by epic mega games in the mid 90s that was meant for sonic fans. It's fun as shit.

Well. Make sure you get Auto Potion ASAP for the main character in FFT. Halfway through the game there is a battle that you will lose everytime...unless you have auto potion.

You can change classes right? I don't have to pick a class and then stay like that. Is it like FFV?

toggletoggle post by arilliusbm  at Dec 16,2009 11:48am
Uhhh you FFT newb. Yea..You can changes classes all the time. You can master classes. Just choose wisely; some classes suck.

toggletoggle post by Martins   at Dec 16,2009 11:49am
Yes, I have never played fft, that's why I would be about to. Alright, that's fun.

FFX-2 had a sick class system too. LOL

Jizz Jackrabbit will be uploaded tonight if I remember. Sick music too.

FFT is enthralling if you STICK with the game. It's a strategy game, so be prepared for mixed feelings, judging on what you say you like in games.

toggletoggle post by reimroc at Dec 16,2009 12:00pm
tactics is fun as hell but can get REALLY hard. good luck getting all the jobs too because some of them are a real bitch to get.

FFTs random battles are essentially optional, not forced like most RPGs.

i back this. ultima online was cool back in the day when i was a lad. then i played a stint of everquest and i regretted it, then i played wow for a few months and i really regretted it.

toggletoggle post by arilliusbm  at Dec 16,2009 3:55pm
The last one I really played was star wars galaxies. I was so poor, couldn't afford a damn house on bespin and eventually gave up after I was banned for disrupting a "wedding"

toggletoggle post by DestroyYouAlot  at Dec 16,2009 3:56pm
a) I play pen-and-paper RPGs, which experience has led me to perceive some pretty big gaps in the MMO experience (most of which seem to be plugged up with the morphine-drip-style level ding and epic dropz).

b) Back in the day I used to play text-based MUDs, which at least have the Colossal Caves text/imagination thing going on, and were usually much more thematically in line with my style of gaming (sandbox sword and sorcery, not plot-railroad high fantasy or anime-tinged powergaming).

c) Night elf Mohawk.

toggletoggle post by reimroc at Dec 16,2009 3:59pm
i love high fantasy. i loved everquest. i loved dark age of camelot. i play a mean orc or dwarf or elf depending on the game and my mood.

i did also have a short stint with D&D: Online.

I don't think you quite understand them. Its not all social networking with a backdrop of a fantasy universe. Most if not all good fantasy and sci-fi MMOs have servers or realms devoted for strictly role-playing. The same as you would do in any pen and paper RPG. These servers within the game are almost always heavily moderated and only fantasy names found within the given games universe are allowed and most guilds will not let you in unless you stay in character while you're in-game. I remember when I first installed WoW and made a character on an RP server. I logged on and started asking normal human questions to the other players about the game. I then proceeded to get bitched at by 10 different people in the world chat for speaking out of character lol. oh and they were bitching at me while in character. some of those players were really creative as far as how they portrayed their race and how that race would speak in person via chat.

Starcraft is the best online game ever. It's Newton's 4th law.

RP servers in MMOs are legit but they're held back by the game and it's players...and the inherent need to depend on them. And the time required to play them - which is mostly spent travelling or grinding.
