saw SD last night outside under a full moon. they played wolfmoon and mr crowley. epic.
That show was so much fucking fun. Between that and the Type O show I feel like we've really been hitting our groove lately - time to take the madness to Worcester!
(And major thanks again for making it out to that show, dude - that was an audience full of true metal troopers right there - nearly half the people at that show drove two hours round trip or more! Fucking METAL. )
Just threw up some new pics on the official website from our show w/Type O on October 18.

We will be pulling out a couple covers for this show, I won't tell which, but here is a hint: they are off of Rust In Peace and Seventh Son of a Seventh Son.
It's actually been three years (!) since the last time we promoted a Massachussetts show here on rttp so I hope to see a lot of you there that I haven't seen in a while.
Prepping for the end of my college career (read: lots and lots of work). Therefore, I might have to skip out of this one. I'm obligated to go to Marduk the next night and can't take two nights off.

awesome show. Recently Vacated Graves was very entertaining, not quite what i expected. one of the singers looked IDENTICAL to Murderface. The Bathory Silence needs to do two things. stop listening to Parkway Drive, and remove the word "Bathory" from their name, as it is a rancid insult to the real Bathory. they were painfully awful. Suicide Dream kicked so much ass, i haven't seen them in so long, the best track all night was "Armageddon". i am so tired, got to bed at 2 and up at 5. it was worth it.
The Bathory Silence? what the fuck is this name? Quorthon did more for metal then anyone present on earth today. have some respect. k thxbye.
they may be referring to Elizabeth Bathory, you know... the one who was around over 400 years prior to the band Bathory
i see what you mean, but at the same time, a band like Bathory is so prominent in metal that to use it in your band name shows a lack of creativity. its like calling a band "Frost That's Celtic" or "The Deicide Diaries".

fucking retards
Uh, not for nothing, but Quorthon also got the inspiration for his band name FROM Elizabeth Bathory. What other Bathory could either of them be referring to?

I'm assuming this troll is trying to make a point, regarding the significance of Quorthon's use of "Bathory". I assume the troll is trying to say that any use of "Bathory", in any other band name, will sound hackneyed. For instance, would you name your band "The Darkthrone Silence"?
For the record, I couldn't care what this band calls themselves.

I'm well aware that both bands are referring to Elizabeth Bathory. The point I was making was that perhaps this local band was not referring to the black metal band, but the person.

Vlad The Impaler needs a noteworthy mention.

Hah, yeah, I automatically gave them the benefit of the doubt, that it wasn't a homage to Quorthon's Bathory. I think it goes without saying that you can't possibly get any gayer than consciously incorporating the name of another band, into your own.
(side note: I just started the band Immortal Dissection.)
