After much consideration, and some souls searching, HYEO is again looking for a drummer. Despite Erik Zedong's keen songwriting and more than capable skills, we just have very different directions we want to take the music.
We're looking for the following in a drummer:
-22+
-Some form of transporation
-Own gear, well maintained
-A job of some sort to pay for band stuff
-Ability to blast, play technical parts in odd times
-Some understanding of how music is written
-Time to tour and play 3-5 shows a month
Our influences include Muse, Botch, Converge, Kaospilot, Cursed, Pig Destroyer, Incantation, Origin, envy, Black Flag. We write :30 second - 3 minute songs with many changes. Our songs are fast and often disjointed, and we intend to keep them that way, thanks.
This all said, we're on a brief hiatus while we look for a new drummer. All shows we have booked we will need to cancel. We're going to take the time to do this right and make sure that we find "the one". We work together really well and need to think about fitting someone into that so we can keep the ball rolling in this particular direction.

Erik Zedong is available to rock and is a fantastic, well-trained, much knowledged drummer. Anyone looking for a drummer should hit him up at zenerik(at)gmail.com. His versed in many different styles of music, has his own gear, and seriously should be in a band right now as he is lined up for playing just about anything. You're dumb if you don't at least jam once with him and you need skinz right now.
Rusty and I are forming a straight-up grind band called Crippling Fear. Musically, it's somewhat different that HYEO in that we're going roots with the music. Influences include Spazz, Benumb, Charles Bronson, Brutal Truth, Assuck, Black Flag, and other early grind bands you can think of. Musically, the only real challenge is the speed. So far we have Gabe from Seeker Destroyer commited to bass, so all we need is drums. Same emails above apply, and I'll make a press release about this when I get home.

It wasn't my intention to play zee ubeer blas' beetz because I know I can't. I'm not sure when that became a big focus, but oh well. No hard feelings on this side. I think we're all good. Different strokes for different folks. |

Erik is a really solid drummer and a hell of a dude. We like his writing and his playing, so we figured we'd give it another go. Turns out that in the year since he'd been in the band that we'd just really moved to a different direction musically than we were at before and we didn't realize it till a few more songs were written. No bologna, just different feelings of what we wanted for HYEO.
Too bad, he's got the chops. I really would like to see Erik in a band so we can play shows together.
We'll all cancel and go get pizza in WOOHSTAH.
