Apparently my serpentine belt has cracks in it and I'm pretty sure something is iffy with my breaks. How much does that kind of stuff cost anyway?

i have a 99 nissan pathfinder and the check engine light keeps coming on. I've taken it to a couple different places and can't get a straight answer. I'm told the code was p1401 i think which looks like its for a leak in the emission control system. But i dont know if it was the same code every time the lights come on.

Also it's starting to make a clip-clop noise from the front left like a fucking horse. I know i need front brakes which is my next scheduled repair. I'm hoping the noise might be caused by the brakes.

I just had to get a new exaust. One shop quoted it over a grand. I took it to the place i got it from and they looked up all the parts and charged me $425.

I just broke 100,000 miles and im starting to feel like it's beginning to fall apart on me. I've had the damn thing almost exactly a year.

Thing is i'm in NY so chances of me driving out to your shop are pretty slim. Any advice would be pretty sweet though.

yea i can do tires but I use another shops equipment for that havent been able to buy a decent tire machine yet so you would have to leave the car a couple hours.

First off get that front end checked out ASAP ball joins and tie rods breaking = bad accident.

the code 1401 is an egr valve 1440 is an evap canister could be a leak in a vacuum or evap line.
sometimes i try to spray a propellant shit near the parts and on the lines and see if the cars idle changes when it does i can narrow the leak down.

btw i weld exaust so sometimes its like 60- 90 bucks to stop hearing crazy sounds from your exaust and no new parts except a length of generic pipe.

how much to put a new (or used, don't care) ignition cylinder in a 98 saturn sl1? (2 door, manual) my key has been sticking for awhile and I await the day I'm stuck somewhere stupid and it won't turn on.

Yea a key cylinder will be around $60 and I'd do the ignition switch at the same time if i were you($80 extra your choice) $150 labor either way. If you drop it off in the morning we will have it to you by 5 or 6. I can probably give you a ride within a reasonable distance.

well it probably the blower motor if it has anything to do with the heat. bearing is probably bad in it.

The heat in my car no longer works. It still blows air but the air is cold regardless of the heat setting. Is this the kind of thing you might be able to fix? I really want to get this fixed before it gets really cold. Your garage is in Lexington right?
