bennyhillifier

Heath Ledger is dead?!?

Ok, seriously...

New Terry Gilliam film. One of the greatest directors / animators of all time.

Can't. Fucking. Wait.

"nothing's permanent, not even death"

interesting.

i didnt think they finished this movie before heath bar died

toggletoggle post by mikeofdecrepitude at Oct 13,2009 10:27pm
They didn't. Apparently they got Johnny Depp, Jude Law, and Colin Farrell to finish his part. Obviously they had to modify the original story, which I believe will make this even more surreal. It seems to have a faustian plot, too. I'm all about this.

Gay movie looks good.

toggletoggle post by MikeOfDecrepitude at Dec 11,2009 12:56pm
At least Terry Gilliam doesn't steal pages out of the George Lucas playbook.

toggletoggle post by arilliusbm  at Dec 11,2009 12:58pm
George Lucas stole pages out of medieval literature and Tolkien anyways.

toggletoggle post by ouchdrummer   at Dec 11,2009 12:59pm
I wish i could watch it.... but i can't watch videos at work. I can't even do reg RTTP cause it "looks" like a message board, at least text mode looks like i'm working.

Great movie.

toggletoggle post by xmikex at Jan 26,2010 10:17am
Good movie, but like all these British surrealist films it goes on forever, and gets so convoluted that you have no idea what's even going on anymore.

Example: Mirrormask. Sweet film. But if you asked me what it was about I couldn't tell you.

toggletoggle post by MikeofdecrepitudE at Jan 26,2010 10:20am
I wanted to like Mirrormask but I couldn't even sit through the entire film.

toggletoggle post by dreadkill  at Jan 26,2010 10:21am
i like mirrormask for the dave mckean visuals. the plot doesn't do a lot for me, but what a beautiful film to look at.

there were definitely times while watching this that i thought "where is this going?" but i still think the plot and characters were better developed than the vast majority of movies out there these days. it had visual appeal and substance.

toggletoggle post by xmikex at Jan 26,2010 10:29am
If a film does enough for me visually, I can almost always forgive a lackluster plot.

ALMOST always...

just put it on.
