#1 I want to say thanks to the Rev for taking the absolute best pictures of us anyone has ever taken.

So yeah, girls getting hit is obviously NOT cool. And ironically, with all this talk of don't hit girls, the one and only fight of the day was started by my friend melissa, A GIRL. Whenever kids dance too hard at shows the complaint is always, Oh, they're hitting girls. Lets be honest with ourselves, we're pretty concerned about getting hit ourselves. Saying girls just makes it seem that much worse, and the defense of said girls seems like it's something righteous. I know I certainly wouldn't want my girlfriend getting decked by some big skinhead, but shes been to enough shows to know how to avoid getting hit.

Furthermore, you cannot possibly blame this on the fact that the show was in mass. I've seen kids from Ma, Ct, Nh, and Ri do some REALLY shitty things to some very undeserving people, things ALOT worse then anything that went on at the taunton show. So please don't villanize all of us in south shore mass.

Bottom line, all over new england at hardcore and metal shows kids dance hard, and more often then not theres gonna be a jerk or two or five that go out of their way to hurt people. Is complaining about it gonna help......nope. Is making empty threats on an internet message board helping anything.....not at all, in fact it only makes things worse. Is saying lets protect the girls, when we really mean lets protect ourselves gonna change anything....no. So if you're gonna goto a show, keep an eye out, and be careful. If you can't take those precautions then you probably don't belong at hc/metal shows in the first place.

I don't know this guy in the Cannae shirt personally. But I've taken shots from him before, and he's also caught the end of a few of my kicks that got out of control. But you don't see me rushing off to a message board to tell the world my horror stories. Cuz it's a hardcore show and it comes with the territory. And even if I did complain, lets be honest, what the hell good would it really do?

point well taken, wordy.. but taken none the less. I tell you this though:
i glanced over on several occasions and saw these meatheads hitting girls. not just me, but honest to goodness females. this is no exageration. now that would strike a chord in any decent male, and so we are justly pissed off.
I realise being a 'board bandit is not going to solve anything, and neither will painting everyone in mass with a broad brush.. but damn. shows aint like that up heah' plain and simple.

p.s. your right, i'm just as concerned about myself getting hit, i weigh about 140 lbs, and those fuckers knocked me on my ass plenty.. it fu cking hurts like hell. shows are, and were supposed to be fun.

you are welcome. What band are you in?
and I agree 100%. I'd hate for this pretty face to get all messed up. Actually, it's more my camera that I worry about. People heal, cameras don't.

Honestly, people don't care that kids are dancing or dancing hard (flip kicking, etc). It's when people do things like punching straight into a crowd. At first, I only saw this at FSU shows that I went to. Now, I see it just about everywhere. I can take pictures from the crowd while people just/kick/circle pit/punch the air/pick up change... but it's when I'm standing there and some monkey is facing me, throwing punch that I really can't do much of anything... especially enjoy the show.

I'm in Letters From The Dead. If you happen to come to another one of our shows come see me and lemme know and I'll make sure nobody, at least nobody we know, comes near you while you're taking pictures.

As far as girls getting hit, I didn't see any girls getting hit that day but I know from experience that it's certainly not out of the question and a couple of girls probably did get hit. Alot of the kids dancing that day were friends of mine and as nice guys as they are outside the pit I've seen them hit girls before but never on purpose. But if it was on purpose, and thats just weak, then it's time for someone to get their attention and say hey, knock it off you're hitting girls. However if you wait till you get home and on your computer to say it, you're not gonna get results.

I'd rather see girls getting hit than dudes getting all fatherly and "protecting the fragile lil' ladies" at shows IMO. People are going to thrash, get the fuck out of their way.

Reality is if you are in/near a pit, you will get hit, male or female (cwhutididthere).

Gender doesn't come into it here...basically, if you don't want to get hit #1 stay out of the pit #2 don't hit anyone else. End of story.

only one-man circle pits are real

Front row headbanging solves all of these problems tbh.

toggletoggle post by arilliusbm at Feb 3,2011 1:07pm
I used to be a front row headbanger until I cut my hair. Now I can't properly headbang so I just push people around. Need longer hair plz

I believe Death Thread put it best: "Don't wanna get hit, don't stand in the front. Cry when you do, you're nothin' but a cunt..."

Nonsense.

It's not the same without the hair.

toggletoggle post by AlxNLI at Feb 3,2011 2:58pm
I thought that headbanging would never be the same after I got my hair cut, but then I started wearing this to shows and it was all good.
