War Master - "Chapel of Apocalypse" Demo 2009

"...For any career metalhead, it's impossible to hear the name War Master without thinking of the classic Bolt Thrower album of the same name. War Master takes the patterns of later Bolt Thrower, like For Victory... and IVth Crusade, and renders them in the simpler, messier and more rhythmic style of the first two Bolt Thrower CDs."

War Master "Chapel of Apocalypse" Demo 2009 (Examiner.com)

"...this demo is primitive and powerful grinding material; unlike the Bolt Thrower album, this material is less grindcore than old school death metal that grinds, and if you listen long enough, you can hear other classic death metal influences creeping in."

War Master "Chapel of Apocalypse" Demo 2009 (Dark Legions)

You can get the cassette demo for $4 from Torture Garden Picture Company, and you can add War Master to your friends list on MySpace. You can also download the demo in mp3 format below and spread it around so this band gets some popular momentum:

pump!

But seriously, good death metal and it's there for you to d/l since it'll be a pain in the ass for you non-Houstonians to get the fjucking demo.

Metal-Archives.com has approved my review of the War Master demo (2009), "Chapel of the Apocalypse":

If you haven't heard this epic leaden slab, you can fix that by getting the demo from Sound Exchange for $3.75 or the label, Torture Garden Picture Company.

Come on now, I'm a Houstonian at heart.
I still have my "Don't mess with Texas" bumpersticker in my room. Hick, or badass?

So far, only around Houston. Trying to get more info now. You are a Houstonian at heart and should probably turn the heat up to 89 and leave the shower on with a moldy sock in it to recapture the atmosphere of this place.

Heh. I remember every building / apartment/ house had AC down there. Up here it's not quite the same. I really miss Tex Mex, Whataburger, and country-fried steak from Texas. Shit's legit.

After hearing positive reports of this old school death metal band when they opened for BLASPHERIAN and IMPRECATION a month ago, I found the demo at Sound Exchange and was able to hear all three tracks in full and was impressed. WAR MASTER were kind enough to take the time to chat with us about their demo, sound and future.

WAR MASTER interview, Houston old school death metal

Good to hear about the full-length album coming. We need more from the "old school death metal revival" that Houston is having.
