How come they continue to claim to be lansdowne's only rock club, and just cancelled one of the few rock nights they had?

Do they really think they will find something better to have on a monday?

I hope Lansdowne street sinks into the ground.

And while I am on the subject of things I hate, Mass Concerts can suck my dick.

Now the only clubs in the city that do metal are O'Brien's, The Chopping Block, and All Asia. And those just happen to be the 3 best clubs around anyway.

toggletoggle post by TheGreatSpaldino   at Apr 2,2004 4:55pm
let me guess... there was a fight this passed Monday during the HARDCORE show that was going on...

toggletoggle post by intricateprocess   at Apr 2,2004 4:56pm
is the TYAG, all that remains show still happening?

toggletoggle post by succubus  at Apr 2,2004 4:56pm
there is alreaedy a post about this

toggletoggle post by Joe/NotCommon   at Apr 2,2004 5:15pm
I know there is, but I wanted to vent in an all new thread.

And if they stopped doing those shows because of a fight at a hardcore show then they should have just banned those bands.

The All That Remains cd release was cancelled, which was dumb. I bet a ton of people would have went to that show.

toggletoggle post by dreadkill  at Apr 2,2004 5:24pm
so dumb. all that remains is part of the metalcore trend that is creeping into the mainstream, meaning more people would come to these shows. why stop sometihng that might make you money?

toggletoggle post by SinPromos at Apr 2,2004 5:26pm
yeah this is UBER gay... yes I just said UBER... That show would've rocked... sponsored by Harder Faster too.. Lansdowne must be morons to cancel all existing shows...they could have easily just stopped booking if they wanted them done. Nothing has ever done so well on Monday nights... hardcore bands are always ruining it for everyone else, I wouldn't be surprised if that's exactly what happenned.

and yeah Joe those clubs might be cool, but the only who lets people in under 21 is All Asia, and that place is like 10'x10' from what I hear. Where can people do semi-netionals in Boston anymore for metal shows? wicked uber gay... this is a big hit to metal in Boston,m even if it was only a Monday night.

toggletoggle post by TheGreatSpaldino   at Apr 2,2004 5:26pm
100 tickets were already bought for the show... someone is going to have a bit of trouble...

toggletoggle post by TheGreatSpaldino   at Apr 2,2004 5:29pm
wait a second... did you just say ALL of lansdowne? if thats the case then is the Queensryche being cancelled?! i sure as hell hope not.

toggletoggle post by SinPromos at Apr 2,2004 5:30pm
yeah Spaldino... it better be Lansdowne too and not Ronin... this is bs.. he's been packing their club on a MONDAY for a long time... they should be greatful, or at least upstanding enough not to cancel existing shows where tickets have been pre-sold... retarded.

toggletoggle post by SinPromos at Apr 2,2004 5:32pm
Spald - just Monsta Mondays, no worries on Queensryche

toggletoggle post by Menstrual_Sweatpants_Disco   at Apr 2,2004 5:32pm edited Apr 2,2004 5:33pm
Boston should ban all music. that would be awesome.

toggletoggle post by TheGreatSpaldino   at Apr 2,2004 5:35pm
good... if Queensryche was cancelled... i would have fucking nuked Lansdowne.

toggletoggle post by Joe/NotCommon   at Apr 2,2004 5:44pm
All Asia is about the size of the block, a little bit bigger then obriens.

I have some nationals coming to All Asia, O'Briens and the Block, and if it means I am an asshole then so be it. Atleast I know they aren't wicked gay and won't cancel my shows.

toggletoggle post by TheGreatSpaldino   at Apr 2,2004 5:57pm
i would just like to note that hardcore ruined metal for the Middle East

toggletoggle post by Terence   at Apr 2,2004 6:03pm
I love how Bills Bar is supposedly the "bastard child" of Lansdowne street. Ultra gay.

toggletoggle post by TheGreatSpaldino   at Apr 2,2004 6:04pm
it really sucks because that placed sounds exceptionally well

toggletoggle post by Terence   at Apr 2,2004 6:05pm
oh, and its not Ronin, I just discussed with him about the Brutal Domination Tour, and having it at Bills, he said he would book it. still gay though.

toggletoggle post by TheGreatSpaldino   at Apr 2,2004 6:07pm
dude! if that tour is at Bill's... holy shit... its going to sound so fucking good.

toggletoggle post by Terence   at Apr 2,2004 6:11pm
its not anymore, cause of this garbage.

toggletoggle post by TheGreatSpaldino   at Apr 2,2004 6:22pm
why cant they book metal on OTHER nights? i dont get it.

toggletoggle post by anonymous at Apr 2,2004 6:24pm
whats sorta funny is another clubs has started a monday metal nite in fitchburg

the compound

toggletoggle post by TheGreatSpaldino   at Apr 2,2004 6:25pm edited Apr 2,2004 6:25pm
yeah... but no one wants to go to that shithole town

toggletoggle post by Joe/NotCommon   at Apr 2,2004 6:30pm
How did hardcore ruin metal at the middle east? Shred books the middle east and he knows everything about every style of music and wouldn't hold metal accountable for anything hardcore did.

I bet the people who run the conspiracy to keep metal out of Boston paid the compound to start metal monday so they could can it at bill's bar.
Fitchburg should be doing metal on saturdays, not mondays. Monday should be karoake night or something retarded like that, which is probably what Bill's Bar will do.

toggletoggle post by anonymous at Apr 2,2004 6:38pm
dosen't bill have like cover bands on fri and sat

toggletoggle post by Joe/NotCommon   at Apr 2,2004 6:40pm
I think so.

toggletoggle post by Terence   at Apr 2,2004 6:41pm
The scene is very frustrating right now.

well you cant mosh there anymore because of a show that Since the Flood played and their fans were getting way too rowdy and i guess a bouncer tried breaking something up and then he started getting beat up and STF encouraged it or something and the show was shut down right then and there before the last band/s could even play (one of them being the awesome Irepress which you should check out and book, Joe) so i figured that was the reason for the middle east not having as many local metal shows anymore.

(to anyone from STF that reads this, that is simply what i heard and not what i saw so obviously thats not 100% accurate seeing as that i have no real way of knowing if that was the case so dont get the wrong impression by the statement above)

toggletoggle post by Josh_hates_you  at Apr 2,2004 6:48pm
instead of paying alot of $$$$$ to book a show or splitting the door, Open up your own place and book your own shows with less overhead and a constant venue would draw bigger crowds more $$$$ to pay bills,bands,self....one less clubs to bitch about

i know its easier said than done

Well if that is what they plan on doing now, I'm sure it will bring them more money. Lonely japanese business men aren't as lazy as metal kids.

toggletoggle post by Terence   at Apr 2,2004 7:01pm
ugh I fucking hate everyone

toggletoggle post by TheGreatSpaldino   at Apr 2,2004 7:04pm
the more brutal the music you listen to... the lazier you are.

toggletoggle post by Menstrual_Sweatpants_Disco   at Apr 2,2004 7:17pm
Around here at least maybe. There aren't enough bands around ripping off sect of execration, so I just sit at home and eat cookies.

toggletoggle post by anonymous at Apr 2,2004 7:32pm
and cheaper too

toggletoggle post by XmikeX at Apr 2,2004 8:15pm
Monday nights at bills bar will be back im sure.

It didn't get cancelled because of a fight at a hardcore show. The story goes, from what i've heard, that someone made up a bunch of controversy on the bostonbeatdown.com messageboard. None of it was real at all, and it was all done just to draw attention. But the manager of bills saw it, and got scared and cancelled the shows. I doubt sincerely that this is permanent.

toggletoggle post by Ninkaszi187   at Apr 2,2004 8:30pm
Actually, someone got beatdown bad after the Macabre show. That is fact. The security guard was involved, and Bill's has an awesome lawsuit coming for them....

toggletoggle post by Abbath at Apr 2,2004 9:17pm
is anyone going to the Utopia Banished show there on monday? they're a pretty sweet band

toggletoggle post by Menstrual_Sweatpants_Disco   at Apr 2,2004 9:46pm
I heard that the back room in bill's bar actually leads to a huge underground laboratory where they combine new forms of technology with some ancient conspiratorial religion to cross-breed llamas with fruit salad in order to engineer an elite race of mutated vine monsters. Using quiet Monday nights to secretly escape Bill's Bar and reek havoc on an unsuspecting city, they will feed on hobo kidneys and dismembered baby hymens in order to maintain their super-intelligence. Once the vine monsters are in power they will abduct the most important of earth's leaders, gain power, and construct an intergalactic star cruiser that enables them to travel into the farthest reaches of space. Millions of years later, after growing weary of their seemingly effortless enslavement of the universe, they will devise methods for time travel and transport themselves back to our time. Once back, they will replace Saturday morning cartoons with video footage of little kids being raped and mutilated, and train naked clowns with autism to break into people's houses and steal their peanut butter jars that they were keeping old hot wheels in. All the while the owners of Bill's Bar will be sitting smug, laughing from their thrones, and sitting on tuna fish sandwiches while reading gay porno.

This sucks for All That Remains. They had a big promotion going with Newbury Comics and gave away a ton of tickets to that show Monday, which I was really looking forward to because of all the bands playing...

I think this is what this whole thread is about,...Bills Bar cancelling metal.

toggletoggle post by Abbath at Apr 3,2004 12:28pm
fuck beans

toggletoggle post by anonymous at Apr 3,2004 4:38pm
Im just not seeing any evidence to support this, not on any of the bands sites or the bill's bar site

toggletoggle post by anonymous at Apr 3,2004 8:38pm
why the hell doesnt bills bar put any of that on their web site?

toggletoggle post by theundergroundscene   at Apr 4,2004 12:14pm
Well I am pretty sure "The Great Spauldino" is in Terminally Your Aborted Ghost, but I might be wrong since I don't know anyone here, haha, and they were supposed to play with All That Remains tomorrow and I think it's a safe bet to say that if he says the show isn't happening, it's not happening.

Besides that, Dan from Cannae came on our message board and posted this...

toggletoggle post by anonymous at Apr 4,2004 1:31pm
this really sucks because utopia banished is driving all the way up from Ny to play there, and nobody told them about this.

toggletoggle post by SinPromos at Apr 4,2004 3:22pm
it's definitely cancelled... I manage Trauma Concept, so Ronin called to let me know the deal. I also talked to ATR's manager too. It's definitely not happenning. Sorry guys.

actually they got served papers last week due to someone getting their ass beat at the macabre show. Then they decided to not hold anymore hardcore/metal shows at the bar. it's not some metal conspiracy...

toggletoggle post by Joe/NotCommon   at Apr 5,2004 10:13am edited Apr 5,2004 10:24am
I hope that Bill's gets shut down from the lawsuit.

toggletoggle post by WhyamIandasshole   at Apr 5,2004 10:23am
The manager of Bills didn't cancel the shows. The Lyons Group did. Take your grips up with them.

Whenever a fight breaks out during one of our shows, we just keep playing because 9 out of 10 times, everything falls back in order and cools down. If the band stops playing, whines about it..calls attention to a silly little fight, then they run the risk of getting the show shut down over something small and stupid, that could have been overlooked by say a promoter or club owner.

OBVIOUSLY we didn't encourage it, so just SHUDDUP!!!

Security at clubs should know how to handle certain types of crowds. The security at the mid east all looked like they saw moshing for the first time that night.

Bottom line, we didn't start any fight, or fight any fight.

And about the comment saying whatever band was playing when a fight breaks out should be "banned".. Well if Hatebreed was "banned" from every venue that a fight broke out at then... see where I'm going with this?

toggletoggle post by Joe/NotCommon   at Apr 15,2004 9:43am
I wish hatebreed was banned from being alive.
