And the fools here at my work haven't got a clue how to fix my problem. That's why I'm going to ask all you computer geniuses what you think I should do. So, here's my dilema. Internet Explorer will not connect to anything, nothing at all, not our internal servers or any websites at all. So, I give Netscape a try and it's running just fine, my outlook is running fine too. I haven't got any viruses on my PC and no one here seems to have a clue how to fix this problem. Has anyone here had anything like this happen to them before? How did you fix it? I've uninstalled IE a number of times, I've downloaded a new version, nothing is working.

are their any proxies set?

tool->internet options->connections->lan settings?

toggletoggle post by Siberia   at Apr 1,2004 2:40pm
Rebooting did nothing. I've installed, uninstalled, rebooted, you name it, it's most likely been tried!

LAN setting is "automatic detect" should I try using a Proxy Server?

nah, i think it needs to be on to get its IP.

Can you ping anything?

Goto Start->Run->winipcfg then type Ping 3com.com

Thanks Aaron but No Dice, I'm screwed.

It all started back when Google stopped loading and some other search page would load. It worked fine this way for a while but one day the whole thing shit out. I think I'm going to need to persuade the company to give me a new computer. I can't do my daily work without IE and when I'm getting paid like 96K per year I ned to show some results to the boss! JK, I make peanuts here for the amount of work I do!

So, I went to run and typed in winipcfg 3com.com and it gave me a usage report? Is that what I'm looking for here?

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Apr 1,2004 3:11pm
winipcfg is probably ignoring the 3com.com

I'd say download adaware and spy bot s&d with netscape and then run them. I'm guessing you have some spy ware that's doing it.

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking too seeing as Nutscrape is running pretty much fine! Thanks for all the help!
