NEW SLAYER SINGLE - "HATE WORLDWIDE"- AT HOT TOPIC THIS WEEK

Los Angeles, CA - July 27, 2009 -- Last October, one of Slayer's brand new songs, "Psychopathy Red," leaked online, and since then the song has been streamed more than a half-million times. Nine months is a long stretch to go without a new Slayer track, so the band is making available another morsel from their upcoming album, World Painted Blood, due out later this year. The limited-edition single, a Kerry King composition, is titled "Hate Worldwide," and will be available exclusively as a CD-single at Hot Topic stores beginning tomorrow, Tuesday, July 28. You can preview the track NOW at http://www.shockhound.com/features/667-exclusive--hear-slayer-s-new--hate-worldwide--here-first---

"It's a really cool track, and Tom's voice sounds incredible on it," sai! d King. "The last line in the song's chorus is '..spread a little hate worldwide,' and that's what we've been doing for 25 years."

As World Painted Blood is a Slayer album, it deals with topics such as death and destruction, war, serial killers, and the Apocalypse. The album was recorded in Los Angeles over two time periods, during October 2008 and then between late January and March 2009. World Painted Blood was produced by Greg Fidelman, who's spent time in the studio with Metallica, the Gossip, the (International) Noise Conspiracy, Slipknot and others, and executive produced by long-time Slayer colleague, Rick Rubin, who suggested Fidelman for the project.

Slayer - bassist/vocalist Tom Araya, guitarists Kerry King and Jeff Hanneman, and drummer Dave Lombardo - is currently co-headlining the Mayhem Festival with Marilyn Manson, Killswitch Engage, and Bullet for My Valentine, among others. Remaining dates are as follows:

In that "bad =/= terrible", you're both right.

Meh. It's decent at best I guess. Sounds rough as hell though.

toggletoggle post by thuringwethil at Jul 28,2009 3:33pm
Comcast Center. Why can't they just say it's in Mansfield?

toggletoggle post by MikeOv at Jul 28,2009 3:38pm
I'll just pretend that Show No Mercy is the new Slayer, and not listen to this crap.

toggletoggle post by DestroyYouAlot  at Jul 28,2009 3:55pm
Hanneman, Araya and Lombardo should just start a Slayer tribute band.

toggletoggle post by Conservationist  at Jul 28,2009 5:41pm
Band always kills live, always play the old stuff. New stuff isn't half bad. Beats all the faggot metalcore (and the non-faggot metalcore too!).

that recording has noooo balls.

toggletoggle post by foghorn   at Jul 30,2009 12:05pm
I downloaded it, but didn't listen to it. I guess I just assumed it would be generic Slayer. Am I right?

toggletoggle post by pam   at Jul 30,2009 12:08pm
Yes you are. Very generic. But I forgive them blah songs...they wrote a lot of amazing albums, eventually you're gonna lose your ability to keep things interesting.

People who refuse to listen to New Slayer(tm) on principle end up strung out on haldol in Indonesia whilst starring in Bear Bukkake films.

Don't let it happen to you. Think of all the people you'll hurt.

It's already too late man.

And to be more specific, it's Polar Bear Bukkake. Big, gay eskimos. MMMM.

Actually, that's quite exciting.

toggletoggle post by Conservationist  at Aug 5,2009 10:39am
They're steadily working up to tackling something like their old stuff again.

toggletoggle post by mikeofdecrepitude at Aug 5,2009 10:45am
I recently saw this Slayer video from 1984, which gives credence to why people are fanatical about Slayer. I think they've always been overrated, but that video was killer.

Ultimate Revenge ftw
