LONDON (Reuters) - Chocoholics seeking to indulge their passion this Easter will appreciate a British hotel chain's diet-busting chocolate sandwich, which boasts the added attraction of being dipped in batter and deep-fried.

Ramada Jarvis introduced the delicacy last month and said on Wednesday the calorie-heavy dish had become the fastest selling dessert on its menu.

"We were surprised it has become so popular, although it is very tasty," said the chain's director of food and beverages Debbie Walter.

The sandwich is particularly popular in Scotland, traditional birthplace of the mother of all deep-fried desserts, the battered Mars bar.

Mindful that Britain, along with other Western countries, faces an increasing problem of obesity the hotel chain also offers less fattening desserts.

i actually shared a deep fried mars bar in ireland with some friends..it was REALLY good...i would definitely give it a taste..although i'm sure it's as filling as hell, so a few bites just to taste it..

that would make me vomit.

what would? it's heavy and to eat an entire one would be too much..but to share and get a taste...it's not something you eat everyday...and more like something ..just to taste

I like sweets and berries equally. Man, I love blackberries. Strawberries are really good too, but I like to dip them in sugar or chocolate sometimes. But man, blackberries are the way to go. Raspberries also, but nothing is as good as blackberries. I bet I am the first one to ever say the word "blackberries" on this message board.

i love it when they are in season...i usually get a basket of blueberries (i think they are my fave), strawberries, blackberries and raspberries
