The Black Dahlia Murder release first single, reveal album title and track listing for new album
The Black Dahlia Murder has announced Deflorate as the title of their new album, which is scheduled for a September 15th release. A Selection Unnatural, the first single, will begin streaming exclusively on RevolverMag.com on Tuesday, July 7th.
http://www.revolvermag.com/blackdahlia

Vocalist Trevor Strnad comments: “Hear Ye thrashing metal maniacs! We have returned with our most relentless album yet…sure to penetrate and ravage your virgin ears, "Deflorate!" I feel confident that we have outdone what we achieved with our last album... words cannot express the excitement we all feel about the new material. Now this is fucking Death Metal! The boys at Audiohammer Jason Suecof and Mark Lewis have done it again…the result is one beastly sounding album. Last but certainly not least, prepare yourselves to behold the hair raising shred of Georgia's own Ryan Durell Knight! Special thanks to Tony Koehl for the kickass job on the cover art…feast your eyes and ears on this most unholy of spectacles! The time of Defloration is upon us!

As foretold at the end of our "Majesty" DVD, the new album will come packaged with an exclusive DVD featurette, lovingly titled "Going Places". Ride along with your favorite jerks on Knight's first tour with the band, a drunken romp through our first ever shows in Sweden, Norway and Russia. Sickness!”

Metal heads will be witnessing firsthand The Black Dahlia Murder's energetic live show all summer on the Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival alongside label mates Cannibal Corpse, Job For A Cowboy, Behemoth and Whitechapel. The tour kicks off on July 10th in Sacramento, CA. The Black Dahlia Murder will also be doing two meet and greets at Hard Rock Café locations during the festival. The Black Dahlia Murder will be at the Hard Rock Café locations on July 17th in Phoenix, AZ and on July 24th in Atlanta, GA. Both will occur at 11am, well before doors open at the actual venue.

Deflorate track listing:
1. Black Valor
2. Necropolis
3. A Selection Unnatural
4. Denounced, Disgraced
5. Christ Deformed
6. Death Panorama
7. Throne Of Lunacy
8. Eyes Of Thousand

So, is this still going to be an At the Gates ripoff sound or what? Have they discovered originality yet?

why don't you click?

cons - it's too produced. vocals are really annoying. i've heard these riffs.

pros - they have a great trigger player. the solo was cool. i dunno.

....zzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I like the track. I even liked the last album.

Disarmonia Mundi > BDM

BDM doesn't sound like ATG

NIGGER

toggletoggle post by immortal13 at Jul 7,2009 5:48pm
If ATG played blast beats more and sped it up a little it would sound pretty close. That doesn't stop me from liking BDM though.

This song sounds good though. nothing real different from their latest, but I still like it.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Jul 7,2009 9:47pm
older BDM sounds more like carcass than atg.

toggletoggle post by BlackoutRick at Jul 8,2009 3:39pm
I agree they sound like atg. What band doesnt now a days.

toggletoggle post by arilliusbm  at Jul 8,2009 3:42pm
Saint to Sinner doesn't.

Sorry folks, I've despised this band since they came out.
I listened to the new track last night and still felt "zzzzzzzz" like darkwor said.
This stuff sounds a little more aggresive than older stuff I've heard from them, but shit's not metal to me.

toggletoggle post by MillenialKingdom  at Jul 8,2009 4:16pm
If it's not Metal, what is it? It's definitely not Rock. It's not Rap. It's Metal. Maybe not your favorite style but they still play it.

I used to dig this band back in the day. I saw them on their first tour when they played Bill's Bar to like 10 people. Their first metal blade release(the name escapes me) had yet to be released. I lost interest about 6 months after that record came out and I haven't listened to anything they have done since.

I need to throw their 3 song ep I have up on ebay and make some cash.

It's schmetal.

> BDM

win.

toggletoggle post by arilliusbm  at Jul 8,2009 4:48pm
^^ What he said.
I can understand why people like this stuff, but I'd much rather take any Swedish melodic DM (obviously their biggest influence) over them any day of the week.
At the Gates, A Canorous Quintet, older Ablaze My Sorrow, DT, etc..
I'm not huge on American psuedo-Swedish sounding bands. But to each their own.

Competent, but far from appealing.

I want to start a petition to TURN THE FUCKING "KICK" AND "SNARE" DOWN IN THE MIX. What happened to huge guitars in metal?

God I'm sick of this production aesthetic.

Oh, and this is paint by numbers metal personified.

Metal By NUMBERS 1, 2, 3!

toggletoggle post by MikeOvDecrepitvde at Jul 9,2009 2:00pm
I'm not going to sit here and say that BDM is the worst band I've heard, but having been a fan of the Swedish melodic metal scene, I'm definitely bias.

"Everyone in that band was a fucking nerd in their own different way."

I love the big drum sound. Some metal is the other way around. Slayer definitely is and always has been drums way up in the mix.
