Heisai Yasokawa's Empty Orchestra - brutal grindcore from Saugus, MA - will be releasing their 3 song EP entitled "Songs Of An Endless Charade" on Boston based Alimony Soundworks by the end of May. Featuring the songs "Pepper Jack Love Fraggle Rock", the modern classic "Organic Flowers", and "I Live With Kings", the cassette is 4:33 of nonstop disrespect. All listeners will time travel to the dark ages and explode as the ripping thunder slashes them to bits. Also many will not survive.

The songs were recorded by Mad Mike at the House of Insanity and masted by Matt of the band Mast at Angular Studios. The first pressing is on purple imprinted Cobalt cassettes in clear/black Norelco boxes. 4/1 J-card. Sick.

Anyone that pre-ordered shirts will get this instead of a CD-R unless they ask otherwise. Much better deal.

And considering we're having to get the shirts reprinted, there's still time to pre-order one!

yo speaking of which, i preordered one awhile back and im gonna be moving out of school soon (im the address in ct). so i guess just hold off on shipping it and i'll pick it up at a show?

toggletoggle post by ouchdrummer   at May 9,2009 12:27pm
i really like the shirts.

Fuck yes cassettes. A friend of mine is putting together a 2 volume cassette release and I submitted a song for it. Its an easy way to weed out the douche listener when you tell them its a tape and they look puzzled and you can tell they totally don't have a tape player or an old shoe box filled with Dogg Pound and Biz Markie tapes. Only vinyl and cassette tapes are real.

toggletoggle post by tylor  at May 9,2009 1:46pm
i'll listen to this on my walkman everyday

cassette = media that degrades
HYEO = music that does not degrade
this is a paradox.

toggletoggle post by dreadkill  at May 9,2009 7:10pm
what's with this cassette revival trend? i wouldn't mind if i actually had a tape player, but i don't anymore.

toggletoggle post by TTOCnli at May 9,2009 7:44pm
I've always loved cassettes and have a massive collection. I was doing tape trading with a friend in IN for a little bit and my best friend in Jr High and High School along with myself boycotted CDs till 1999-2000. CDs are too crispy, skip, flake, and basically are kinda lame. Tapes are rad though they get bad over time. I like Vinyl cause it has longevity. Tapes are like a good sub for vinyl for times when you can't get vinyl done. They're also more portable...in fact, way more portable and versatile than CDs.

These will be Cobalt tapes, too, so the frequency response is much more intense than with Ferrous tape. That means it's basically better than CD quality...warmer and with intense highs and lows. Kinda like a bipolar oven!

So it's not a revival, just being old enough and independent enough to do something I much prefer to do.

toggletoggle post by dreadkill  at May 9,2009 9:03pm
i just called it a revival because i'm noticing more bands doing it.

Good tapes never die!!!!

toggletoggle post by Murph  at May 12,2009 4:41pm
you should rename it "Dongs of an Endless Gay-rade."

Fitting.

We gotta set something up with you weiners upon my return from Europe.

Very cool. Ipsissimus has a live cassette coming out this summer. Hand numbered wax cylinders to follow!

toggletoggle post by archaeon at May 12,2009 10:21pm
I wanna shirt. purple.

toggletoggle post by the_taste_of_cigarettes  at May 12,2009 10:29pm
Shirts shall be in in about 2-3 weeks. There was a snafu with the original printer so we had to get them reprinted.

toggletoggle post by the_taste_of_cigarettes  at May 12,2009 10:31pm
In reference to the album name, think of this: When does death end?

Hahahaha

In all seriousness, though, and with 20/20 hindsight, has anyone else noticed that CDs are the one media that hasn't survived aging? They damage so easily and some of my CDs decomposed right in the jewel cases. I opened the cases and there's fleck all inside. It's nuts.

I have 78s that still play perfectly, I've got cassettes that sound mint. Meanwhile my first Vision of Disorder CD is a pile of flaked off silver.

That may have something to do with VOD having an expiration date of 7/13/97.

(See what I did there?)

I wish I could release something on 8-track, with an accompanying Betamax video. Laserdisc would be preferred over Beta, but I'd imagine that being significantly more impossible...haha.

hell yeah dude. Shirts came in yesterday, look tight. Slight delay as the original printer fucked them up and we had to get them reprinted through Def-Star instead. I'll mail yours out next week when the cassettes come in so you get one of those fer free... the CDR I promised, too.

Sound good?
