I didn't see them at the Fontana, but "Fuck the Universe" has pretty much made me a convert.

Went and got the previous CDs, they're not the same IDEAL mix of black metal and doom as FTU but damn this is some of the best shit I've heard in eons.

and furthermore,

bennyhillifier

should've done that earlier, oops

PaulCNV told me to check them out. still need to.

yar, fuck the universe is a nasty album.

toggletoggle post by Yeti at Apr 3,2009 10:32am
totally agreed. i don't know their earlier material all that well, but FTU is an excellent record. the vocals are killer.

toggletoggle post by ............. at Apr 3,2009 11:14am
their early albums are really great.

i thought FTU was a little bit too long. still good though.

the early albums are a little shorter, making them a really good listen.

lighten up, francis.

toggletoggle post by spacecorpse  at Apr 3,2009 10:21pm
look, Craft is a pretty good band, just not very original but just ask the guy from Humanity's Plague records about the many bands that copy the copycats lol he signs them all. LOL i'm sorry, I said I wouldn't rag on other people's work anymore, but I just had to put that in there.

toggletoggle post by thuringwethil at Apr 3,2009 10:33pm
OK, and by that logic and Led Zeppelin should never have existed because Willie Dixon shot his load at some point before them

toggletoggle post by AndrewBastard at Apr 3,2009 10:41pm
Total Soul Raping Black and Roll FTW.

good point dude, but my point is that the guy from that label signs only things that are sure to sell a certain amount of copies or bands that easily receive a certain amount of interest from the black metal audience, instead of opening his eyes to more original acts that could maybe expand the genre or offer something new. Stuff doesn't have to be original at all to be good I love Dismember for example, even though they are a lot like Entombed, but they are still their own entity regardless. I don't mean to be gay, the way I talk about music with such passion makes me come across that way.

toggletoggle post by thuringwethil at Apr 4,2009 12:08am
well he did his second best to plug Striborg, but I see your point there. What I like about Craft is the balance between doom heaviness and blastmort.

But all the same, Tjojgtar is the shit to aspire to, it's like Hawkwind meets Zappa in Von's underwear

Interesting to see how you've come to the conclusion as to who or what I decide to release...I release what I like...if it was about sales why would anyone get into black metal? If you ever have the gumption to start your own label, are you going to seek what is "the next big thing" or what you truly enjoy? You need to be a part of the culling of the human herd...

Ok now for all to fucking see. John , do you remember when you had to open your big fucking mouth and bash Vital Remains on this forum? Practically everyone hated you and you were even barred from their shows. Who was there to defend you? me. Even that guy Blue had to come up to you and say hey man, chill out with the internet crap. So don't fucking get all self righteous with me there buddy. You been talking shit on the internet way longer than me and ruffled a few of your own big birds feathers so you can't talk about it. My7 opinion is my opinion and I will murder anyone in cold blood that starts shit with me in real life over my opinion online or anywhere else for that matter. It's a free country to say what you want. If you little fag asses can't take it then you're just weak.

Gumption, good word choice. Look buddy you're all butthurt but it's my opinion ok? I tihnk you would rather release a third rate Craft clone than something infinitely more threatening and original, that's your choice maybe you worship craft clones what do I give a fuck. And yes I believe that part of running a label in the music business is trying to find the next big thing and everyone loves making their money on stuff and everybody does no matter what genre of music it is there is money to be made and bills to be paid. Fuck off loser.

toggletoggle post by Humanity‘s Plague Prod. at Apr 4,2009 5:49pm
Still jilted because of the demo thing huh? Go cry elsewhere...and yeah, I'm not too concerned about your opinion...if I was I'd change my ways wouldn't I? You have no idea about anything it seems, especially Humanity's Plague Prod. Your life is reduced to your pointless opinions on an internet board becuase you have NOTHING else going on for you. Maybe you need to get out more often...

toggletoggle post by spacecorpse  at Apr 4,2009 6:34pm
suck it up dude, move on. If you don't care much for my opinion, it's awfully funny how everytime I mention you, there you are to rebut it and argue with me. I actually own a couple of your cd's I got off John before and a friend of mine played me a track off one of the Avsky albums called Fuck your values or something like that and it was actually quite good and misanthropic. Happy now? I proclaim you are worthy, you should feel privaleged.

I agree with spacecorpse. Local music is lacking. Mostly because of hipsters, emo/hardcore/beatdown/fagenstiens and because everyones ego gets in the way of their fingers plucking guitars, basses and blast beats. Hail mighty Inquisition and the ancient kings of hell.

Hey my old friend thanks for sticking by me. Though we are right about many things, i've decided that it was wrong of me to put this guy's label down, or put anybody down for that matter. You are proud of what you do with your band i'm sure, and if I was as proud and dedicated with something, then I wouldn't be here bothering with fools like this, dwyer, or any other gay scene fag. That's not what this music is all about. I'm a fan of metal for a long, long time. My mom used to drive me all the way to NYC record shops when I was 13 so I could buy rare brazilian thrash stuff and obscure magazines like Blackthorn(which inspired Darkthrone's name by the way) and I feel that as a dedicated lifelong fan of this music, I have a right to voice my opinion, I just don't have to make it so negative all the time and hey, to each his own. Again, thanks for your sentiments and also your kind and thoughtful words you wrote on that Attn thread also, thanks. I'll see you around at a show sometime or something, good luck with your studies and the band.

There ya go man, that should shut you up. I wrote that in one of your recent updates maybe you didn't see it. I didn't mean to upset you again about this. I really do give you credit for actually accomplishing something with your label, but it is kind of weak of you to get so butthurt about it constantly.

Spacecorpse = best fake RTTP poster / troll ever. I refuse to accept that he is real.

toggletoggle post by Yeti at Apr 6,2009 10:37am
i've read that Blackthorn thing about their name, but i doubt its authenticity. i've read otherwise, and it seems more likely it came from LOTR, the verse about handing out the rings to the different races, considering they were all into Tolkien.

"One for the Dark Lord on his dark throne"
