I was hella lazy feeling. then I had a quicky before going to the gym. trying to do 3hrs worth of stuff in 1.5hrs... needless to say, I pulled my back. ugh! if it hurts this much right after doing it, it's going to be like death on tuesday.
Think Again: these guys opened the show. Sort of weird, but once they got going it was good. By "going" I mean after the first 10+ minutes of guitar amps not working. It made their first songs very start/stop. With how late they started, I could have gotten DQ and Dos amigos. Sadly, I got neither. the last 1/2 of their set was much better. lots of mosh. not very much singing along.
Ignorance: the last show that I saw with this similar line up here, these guys were the only thing missing from the line up. I definitely like these guys. The pit is probably going to be a bit more roomy with alex on stage. Their set was flawless. After all the issues think again had on stage, that was a nice change and people sand along and moshed non-stop. They played a song (had holocaust I the title I think) and the mosh build up in the middle was epic. Reminded me of some of cruel hand's mosh ampifying parts. It's a break of fresh airt when bands write mosh parts that are obviously mosh parts, but it written well so that it's not just "oh, here's another breakdown". I remember a time when you would listen to a whole CD and out of 10 songs there would be one breakdown. it's more of an investment.
Watchfire: weird that dave isn't on guitar, he was doing vocals, and the vocalist was in the audience. It sounded weird with out his guitar. Especially on the tempest. But that dude puts his all into the mic to say the least. I thought he was going to turn himself inside out he was screaming so hard.
Harder the fight: dave went on guitar and the HTF songer came out. That was an unexpected surprise. So many people singing along. Amazing they still remember the songs. It went over better than I would have expected. why did these guys ever break up anyhow?
The Nasty: Nasty set. True to the name. The young kids are making grindy punk? Awesome. They younger punks in the crowd really got into them too. Seems like everyone knew their lyrics.
Word for Word: Makes sense that johnny and josh would be in a band together at some point. Johnny limit moves around so fast and erratic on stage that 99% on the pictures I take of him are out of focus. They played a cover of crucified, but not bite it you scum.
=/ I'm wicked pissed that I missed this show,Harder the fight was the first hardcorecore band I seen which was at the brickhouse like 3 years ago!!!! the greatest show the brickhouse is gonna ever have and I missed it! that sux
