I hate this fucking country.
This didn't work when russia did it... why is it going to work for us? |
|
You guys got a better solution? Say tax cuts and I'll punch you in the e-face. |
|
TAX CUTS. Fuck these socialists. |
|
|
You guys got a better solution? Say tax cuts and I'll punch you in the e-face. |
Stop spending trillions of dollars to destroy people that aren't a threat to us?
Stop paying for weapons to destroy middle eastern infrastructure, and then paying again to rebuild it?
Abbolish the federal reserve to stop creating money with debt?
Stop sending billions in foriegn aid to countries that have a higher rate of employment than us?
Stop spending billions funding the IRS and CIA?
hell, You wouldn't haveto cut taxes if you did all that. The government wouldn't even need to tax you alot if they were saving that kind of money.
It's down right insanity spending that kind of money on the above with unemployment so high and such an intense national deficit. In fact, it destroyed Soviet Russia.
So you want a better solution then the bailouts? There it is. I actually can't think of a WORSE solution then printing money out of thin air and keeping spending habbits the same.
Start counting your dollars Pam. They will be Rubles soon enough. |
|
|

They should have at least had the mortgage credit be $15 grand (not $8K) and make it for ALL home buyers and not just first timers. The money from one or both "bailouts" would have been better used by whiping out comsumer debt so people could spend money on goods and services instead of paying off all their debt. This would effectively stimulate more spending, curb job loss and create more opportunity for people to refinance their homes to avoid forclosure. Instead we inject this now worthless but uncomprehendable amount of cash into a banking system led by crooks who are just gonna misapproprioate the funds anyways. I see absolute no way how this bill will have any positive effects on our country's current situation. The worst part is none of the senators even read the goddamn thing. |
|
I'm happy cause my job bascially just got saved by this going through. |
|

National debt is now over 12 trillion dollars. Wooooooooo. |
|
we are frogs being boiled to death |
|
"Even if the U.S. savings rate were to rise from zero to its long-term average of 8% of disposable personal income, that would create only an additional $830 billion of savings - not enough to fund the domestic share of the deficit. Interest rates would probably have to rise substantially to pull in more foreign investors. "

Yes but Nicc, you're assuming people in government have sense in their fucking heads.
I don't think this is a great idea or anything but it's better than TAX CUTS HOSER. Cause those have worked GREAT before, right? Trickle down economics is a stupid fucking idea that doesn't work.
I'm so beyond caring right now. We're unemployed, FUCKED and completely devoid of any hope to be gainfully employed anytime soon...
Let it burn, I don't care anymore. |

^ I'm happy about 95% of that. That shit all makes jobs, saves us loot in the future and boosts preventive care which costs us less in dying people later.
This isn't flushing money down the toilet. Maybe it's not the miracle fix all but if they're going to fix our infrastructure...employing a shit-ton of people in the process...I think it's worth a shot.
But you can go ahead and call me a bunch of names now. Enjoy. |
|
i understand your angle pam but i just think this is the wrong way to go about it. i would love to be wrong about all this. |
|
amtrak? what the hell is that? |
|
A flat tax plan and the eradication of the federal income tax would in 1 year bear a minimum of about $480 billion...if interested just ask and I'll show you the way |
|
I think they need to tax the shit out of Miracle Whip.
|
|

Yeah I hear ya. It would be nice if we passed this bill before Iraq/Debtpalooza, but only this level of desperation will get Republicans to spend money on our infrastructure, schools and preventative medicine programs. |

This thread sucks.
Needs tits.
There we go. |
|
i feel cheated. we bought a house in dec 07 and bought a new car sept 08
we were only a couple months from being able to get the car credit and we bought a house a year too early i guess..
this bailout is crap.. just another example of giving money to greedy companies who can't make good use of the money they had in the first place..
Free market? guess not.. if it were they would let the companies fail that should fail. if you cant make a better car.. then its not problem to pay higher taxes to make sure you can sell cars... start making better cars.. dont come after my money. If i can sell t-shirts can i go to ford and make them pay me money to keep afloat? nope.
i think obamas "Hope and change" is more like He hopes it'll change.
its just going to make things far worst for my age group as we get older (20's)
crappy thing too.. my wife and I were just laid off and because we work part time for our selves and part time in retail we wont be eligible for unemployment.. to pick up the slack while we are out of work..
I think they should have taken the 790billion and divided it fairly among the 300million US citizens. homeless, home owners.. whatever.. it would have went 100% back in to the economy and the problem would have been solved. .. well if everyone didnt just quit their jobs with their new fortunes lol
as far as iraq.. the should have taken out sadam .. then let the iraqis sort it out. they will never had democracy out there though .. they are based on a totally different believe system.
our democracy was base on values and ethics of a (dare i say it) Christian belief system. and over there they are on a totally different set of ethics and ideals. They don't believe in sexual equality and things of that nature .. that our modern western society does believe in. they are not only asking them to setup a new form of government but to drop their morals and their beliefs to better align with the US model of government. It wont work.
|
|
|
I think they need to tax the shit out of Miracle Whip.
|
Fuck, this picture is so sexy. |
|
NO, no it's def not. Yeah 100% def negatory on the sexy picture. |

I see alot of people saying this lately, but i think it's flawed.
How many people spent their simulus checks last year on vacationing out of the country?
How many people used it as payments toward their japanese or german car?
How many people used it to buy those built in japan plasma TVs and other home electronics?
How many people bought computers with it?
How many people spent it at places like walmart, and target instead of small, local stores?
If you give the money directly to the people, they give it to everyone else in the world.
The american People aren't responsible enough, large corporations aren't responsible enough, and most politicians aren't responsible enough for any sort of stimulus plan to EVER work.
This is black and white: THE ONLY WAY TO IMPROVE OUR ECONOMY IS TO CUT SPENDING. NOT CONTINUE SPENDING AND JUST PRINT MORE MONEY.
that 790$ bailout will end up costing us 1.2 trillion in inflation since the federal reserve prints it all based on dept.
If anyone here gets stimulus, I hope you enjoy spending it and bitching that the cost of milk going up to 13$ a gallon in the next 3 years, and gas hitting the $8 mark. |
|
|
^ I'm happy about 95% of that. That shit all makes jobs, saves us loot in the future and boosts preventive care which costs us less in dying people later.
|
-It doesn't create perminent jobs or careers
-all the loot it will save you in the future will be worth 30 cents on the current dollar due to inflation
-and people NEED to die. It keeps the world turning. |
|
|
Yes but Nicc, you're assuming people in government have sense in their fucking heads.

wel.... We coulda had Paul. he would have fought for all of those things.
... and i know how much you love Paul =P |

which is probably assembled here in the US, as opposed to buying an "American" car, with parts made in China, and probably assembled in Canada? |
|
The problem is that we need to subsidize industry without making it noncompetitive.
Bailouts are stop-gaps, but something needs to follow them to get people spending again. The problem with stimulus checks is that middle class people put them in the bank...
|
|
well to my understanding, instead of a check, Americans will see a reduction on their taxes every paycheck, albeit a small one. |
|
We should build a $787 billion bomb that vaporizes 75% of life on the planet and then drop it somewhere shitty like India. |
|
|
$650 million for the digital television converter box coupon program. |
i think this is the one that makes me the angriest. when the fuck did tv become a right instead of a priviledge? if you can't afford to switch over, then you don't get to watch tv. i haven't had cable in almost a year because i can't afford it, and you know what i do with my time? i find something to do. 650 million wasted. |
|
"I'M AS MAD AS HELL... AND I'M NOT GONNA TAKE IT ANYMORE!" |

tell that to the 3 million people that just lost their jobs. |

The Savior shall fix it all....OOOOOBAAAAMA OOOOBAMMMA......go ahead you nitwaits...chant it....OOOOBAAAAAMA.
HAHA he's fucked. |
|
Niggers can't take care of their own families....haha, a country? HAH BAM! |
|
the bailout/stimulus bill = hypocrisy
it's obama doing the same type of shit he criticized bush for doing.
do me, hoser and conservationist get to say "i told ya so" yet? or shall we wait until we are in a full blown depression? |
|
Easy man....Don't come down on the Savior.
They come down on the followers of Jesus, and they dun went and dun the same thing themselves....
DUUUUURN!
Told 'em so.... |
|
pffffttt....we could have been so lucky. |

It's time to just declare war on China and get humanity over with ;) |

if the world doesn't end.

ron paul is the best person ever and should be in charge of everything. |
|
Unfortunately, people won't vote for Ron Paul because he's not charismatic enough and he doesn't have that celebrity quality that Obama usefully exploits.
Americans want what feels good not what's right. Ron Paul is our safest bet in the future, in my opinion. I voted for him in the primary and I'll vote for him again. |
|

You know what I'm talking about. Of course with Paul being a staunch Constitutional conservative, he's going to have opposition |

You think people agree with Obama? The majority of our country is anti war and against socialism.
and through the manipulative media, we elect a socialist, pro war, idealist. |

perhaps many disagree with him.
but unfortunately, i think too many people were brainwashed into thinking you could only vote for the front runners.
imagine if everyone thought for themselves and voted for anyone besides the front runners.....not just Ron Paul (who i do strongly back), but anyone who would be better than obama or mccain.
Nader, Paul.....fuck, even Perot (is he still alive?)

we are technically already in a depression. they waited a whole year to tell us we were in a recession before |

so far, it looks like his attempts to fix it are pretty shitty. so far, no better than bush (unless you have jungle fever) |

SERIOUSLY
GIMME MY FACKIN MONIES GUY |

Government can't bail you out. This is the primary problem of the American People - too much faith in the establishment.
Instead of understanding that our way of life is unsustainable and that continuing to consume resources like a... well, like an american.... isn't going to help, why not just leave it all to the government to fix?
After all, our President must be Jesus incarnate or something. How else can he dream of "fixing" the economy? |
|
This is a problem that has no immediate solution. These bailouts are a waste. |
|
it is being signed right now. i love how its given an empowering name like "American Recovery and Reinvestment Act ". lets not sugarcoat it. |
|
it should be called the American Ass Raping Act |
