I have a ton of things to clean at home... but how could I pass up this matinee show so close to where I live!?!

toggletoggle post by RichHorror  at Feb 1,2009 4:00pm
The Bonus Army and The Nasty are so so good.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Feb 1,2009 4:36pm
idk the nasty.
suburban showdown's drums are set up. I really hope they are playing too.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Feb 1,2009 4:37pm
check out watchfire. they are awesome

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Feb 1,2009 5:22pm

nasty, the: they were pretty nasty. Young kids making punkhardcore. Sort of like outbreak, but not quite that chaotic. The audience went crazy for them too. Nice to see for the openner. The current moshing trend seems to stem from ice skating. Much be a canadian thing. Seeing a whole floor of people doing it makes me think im at an olympic qualifying event. it also seems no suburban showdown. everyone is just using their bassdrum right now.

pretty sure that think again is settng up.

im more excited about this show because I want to see all the bands on a real stage with lights and sounds. there are also already 6 or 7 photographers here for the second band. I hope I continue to be the tallest!

toggletoggle post by MillenialKingdom  at Feb 1,2009 5:27pm
I wanted to catch this show. I didn't know it was a matinee show. Damn.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Feb 1,2009 5:28pm
sunday shows are always early.

toggletoggle post by MillenialKingdom  at Feb 1,2009 5:29pm
Not this early. Shows are usually starting at 6. Today must have been an exception because of the Super Bowl or something, I dunno.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Feb 1,2009 5:32pm
well, only one band had played thus far.. think again is 1/2 set up.

toggletoggle post by MillenialKingdom  at Feb 1,2009 5:33pm edited Feb 1,2009 5:33pm
Oh ok. My buddy Chris who is running Tiny Giant Clothing is doing shows at the Brickhouse now and he starts shows at the normal time.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Feb 1,2009 5:34pm
a head just came in for think again and the rest of the drums which they are settiing up now.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Feb 1,2009 6:17pm
think again: these guys were so good. Like I said before, it's really the best to see a band go from shakey to a powerhouse in under a year.

watchfirse is setting up now.

toggletoggle post by Kevord  at Feb 1,2009 6:24pm
Watchfire- Mvhc represent.
I worked with one of the guys from The Bonus Army on a construction job but have yet to see them. I should really go out to more of these show.

toggletoggle post by RichHorror  at Feb 1,2009 6:25pm

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Feb 1,2009 6:26pm

You should hook Watchfire up with a show. I tryed to get you to book them when they were Harder the fight. Check out their myspace.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Feb 1,2009 6:28pm
im starving too... forgot to eat today.

toggletoggle post by RichHorror  at Feb 1,2009 6:29pm
Cool, maybe I will now that I have all ages place to book at. Hardcore at bars is usually an epic fail. Which sucks because music is better with alcohol in hand.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Feb 1,2009 6:59pm
what AA place?

watchfire: the awesomeness level was kicked up here and the fans still had fun. Go figure. I didn't pay attnetion to the riffage like I usually do. But I bet it was high class. I watched a bunch of people, big people, get leveled during their set. Even more circle pits from the last band. It did take them a long time to set up which seems to be the way MVHC bands roll. In the middle of their set, dave blew his head or something. I know when they switch everything on, they were playing at 11. Loudest band yet tonight. By far.

no duh.

toggletoggle post by RichHorror  at Feb 1,2009 7:54pm
Yeah I know fight me over it

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Feb 1,2009 8:10pm
I only fight with you over the last pringles in the can.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Feb 1,2009 8:11pm
bonus army, the: the best thing about the bonus army playing after the fact that they are playing is that you get the singer, bassplayer, and the singer of the carrier to be at you show. Those guys rule the school in the crowd, sing along with all the other bands, and toss unsuspecting moshers around in the pit. As usual, their set was pretty darn intense. Im not sure what they were screaming about, but man do I feel it too.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Feb 1,2009 8:18pm
hammer bros: wow.. Their set should have been the show ender. Such a good performance and plenty of "manchester's finest" there. I stayed planted on the side of the stage and didn't move like I should have. That means I missed all the hopping action on that side of the stage. What I did see was a million and one controlled stage dives and a singer who crosses his eyes when he screams. Interesting. The audience did get yelled at for the stage dives so the band started doing it.

a bunch of people filtered out after they were done. probably off to watch the superbowel. (no not the superbowl that is a rip off of the superbowels)

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Feb 1,2009 9:19pm
I'm working on pictures. the effort brought it and had the most amount of singing along of all the bands. this was a very good show. Why haven't the effort and astronomer played shows together?

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Feb 1,2009 9:21pm
it will take me a bit cause
1) I shot way way way too many pictures since I'm used to having to be quick with these bands
2) I forgot to each for the passed 2 days and I need to gorge.

toggletoggle post by ryan_nli at Feb 1,2009 9:43pm
fun show. nice seeing you this weekend rev!

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Feb 1,2009 10:14pm
yeah, I turned around again to talk and you had walked off.

toggletoggle post by ryan_nli at Feb 1,2009 10:19pm
lolz, sorry. did not want to be a bother.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Feb 1,2009 10:35pm
that's my feelings of most things

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Feb 1,2009 10:42pm

toggletoggle post by luke nli at Feb 2,2009 12:42am
wow...i really wish i just went to this show. i hate when people bitch about current hardcore when there are such fucking awesome bands playing, and at such a great venue!
i love these bands and you should too!

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Feb 2,2009 12:54am

toggletoggle post by tysonluneau at Feb 2,2009 9:36am

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Feb 2,2009 10:17am
