I went looking at condos in portsmouth, nh today.

here is the one I'm looking at
http://www.realtor.com/FindHome/HomeListin...EC&snumxlid=1031045167&lnksrc=00002
500sq ft of storage under the staircase.

looking at the "open air" loft space

kitchen

wood stove with 6 skylights on this side

second bed room or studio space. there was a pool in this room.

going up to the loft area

this is the bathroom.

the second condo:

this is a 3-seasons porch with a staircase going to the backyard

Wow, the second place is real nice you yuppie.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Mar 4,2004 3:19pm
I like the first place. I figure, I'm going to be paying $900 for rent... why not go for broke and buy a place?

toggletoggle post by retzam at Mar 4,2004 3:20pm
You should get a condo somewhere near Mendon, so everyday after school I can go and annoy you! I could be Lucas the Menace!

:bows:

Yeah, that's what a friend of mine did. He's paying the same for his mortgage as would be his rent. He got a condo over in Brighton. Nice place, too.

toggletoggle post by Phantos   at Mar 4,2004 3:38pm
I just bought 2 years ago.
its really rewarding to know where your cash is going.
the first one looks good. and the market aint gonna sour in Portsmouth anytime soon. It ought to be a great investment.

Party at Rev's place!!!

toggletoggle post by mikehostageheart   at Mar 4,2004 3:45pm
first one gets my vote.

toggletoggle post by moran   at Mar 4,2004 3:48pm
Go for the first one.

toggletoggle post by 5 Minutes Hate at Mar 4,2004 3:51pm
I agree, I bought a house in August of '02, smartest thing I've ever done! For what I was paying for my shoebox apt. in Burlington I've got a 4 bedroom raised ranch and my band can jam pretty much whenever we want! I liked the first condo you posted above too! Looks nice, totally worth it, just be aware of association fees with condos!

toggletoggle post by tnkgrl  at Mar 4,2004 3:53pm
First one. The stairs are one big Mia scratching post.......

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Mar 4,2004 4:09pm
the first one = $200K
$3.4K per year in property taxes
$100/mo is condo fees.

it's got a $2.5K allowance for putting in new carpets too.
I'm excited and nausious about this...

toggletoggle post by Abbath at Mar 4,2004 4:12pm edited Mar 4,2004 4:13pm
i like the first house better, it looks like it's alot more roomy and you can put more stuff in it. looks like a sweet party house too. the second house was too white and happy vibes

toggletoggle post by morkul  at Mar 4,2004 5:53pm
wow. the first place is killer. one question though. where are my drums going to go?hehehehehehe

toggletoggle post by succubus  at Mar 4,2004 6:09pm
i bought a townhouse towards the Cape a few years backs...sold it a year later and made $$$ then i used the $$$ to put a down payment on a nice house i boguht and lived there for 2 years...sold it and made $$$

i think it's a smart investment and have always thought that

i am excited to be going to see it on sunday! wooot!

toggletoggle post by BornSoVile   at Mar 4,2004 6:37pm

toggletoggle post by anonymous at Mar 4,2004 9:14pm
Wow ... the first one is awesome !!!! All that space is great. You should definitely go for the first one.

It was a best thing I ever did. You won't regret it.

Very, very, very, very funny.

Well, my last name is Malantic. Midlantic (it was a bank), Mid-atlantic, Mylanta, Malortic (I have no idea where that one came from).

In grammar school people used to call me pygmy. I would usually deck the fucker afterwards.

My last name was McNamara, and because I am irish this WASP ridden government didn't grant me my loan. If I was some minority of immigrant or a fellow WASP I bet I would have gotten it. If you were to take a look at my credit score you would be shocked that they turned down my loan, it's in the high 700s.
