toggletoggle post by RustedAngel at Feb 29,2004 5:15pm
i'm definetly happy with it... cooler than my old case:

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Mar 1,2004 2:07am
my case will eat your case for breakfast.
damn... I should have gone with liquid cooling.

toggletoggle post by RustedAngel at Mar 1,2004 8:06am
heheh in your dreams

you don't overclock, or game so you don't really need liquid cooling

toggletoggle post by menstrual_sweatpants_disco   at Mar 1,2004 9:16am
nice.. how's the noise level?

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Mar 1,2004 9:21am
liquid is SO COOL that's why I'd do it.
that and I run 4 hot harddrives that put my case temp around 49C and my cpu at 76-80C

toggletoggle post by succubus  at Mar 1,2004 9:25am
if you get liquid does that mean it will make less noise and you won't have to bang on it like you did sunday morning?

toggletoggle post by RustedAngel at Mar 1,2004 9:25am
my case temp is a cool avg. 28C. with no water involved. heh.

yeah, luquid is a little quieter.

but i have 8 fans in mine, and it's pretty f-in quiet with them turned down. it sounds like a small college fridge.

toggletoggle post by menstrual_sweatpants_disco   at Mar 1,2004 9:31am
sounds quiter than my piece of shit dell. I can't wait to finially build one now that I have some cash saved up, instead of financing them because I'm broke.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Mar 1,2004 11:13am
SHIT!!!!
my case might be there by tonight!!!

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Mar 1,2004 11:14am
I think Im leaving early to go home and get it.

toggletoggle post by succubus  at Mar 1,2004 11:20am

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Mar 1,2004 11:21am edited Mar 1,2004 11:34am
actually, I'm building an entertainment center around my computer.
this means that I'm gtting a new TV (27-32" HDTV widescreen) and new stereo reciever (5.1/6.1/7.1).

this is the reciever I'm going to look at
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?id...=product&productCategoryId=cat03010

this is the TV (well, the model I want is HD-installed)
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?id...06314231&skuId=5362314&type=product
I wish that came in black.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Mar 1,2004 12:54pm
mother fuckers!
the case they send me is blue not black!

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Mar 1,2004 12:56pm
damn it, I checked my order
CASE ASPIRE| XDREAMER II ATX BLU (Qty=1,Price=52.00)
some how it was blue in the order form.

toggletoggle post by RustedAngel at Mar 1,2004 1:02pm
hahahahah

welcome to the blue club. now you have a case that matches the site. make sure you take pictures and post em when you get it setup.

toggletoggle post by succubus  at Mar 1,2004 1:08pm
but he's missing more stuff too

bastards!!

toggletoggle post by retzam at Mar 1,2004 3:29pm
Damn, that sucks.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Mar 1,2004 4:26pm
CABLE IDE133 24" 3H BLUE EL RT (Qty=1,Price=14.99)
and some how that means the cable is green...

I'm also going to need
1) steel fan screws the ones with the fans are so cheap
2) a power splitter
3) switches for the fans

on a postive note:
1) I found my dad's xmas gift to me a $250 gift cert to best buy
2) the remote is fucking killer

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Mar 1,2004 4:49pm

I think I'm going to get that.

toggletoggle post by RustedAngel at Mar 1,2004 4:52pm
post pics of your case, gd!

ohh me likey!
can't wait to see it

wait!
is it loud?

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Mar 2,2004 10:15am
man... tonight, I need to dremel out the fan in the back so I can re-install them with GOOD screws. then install a new fan i nthe front.

then get some power extenders and one splitter so I can run all the power cables behind the motherboard. I wanted the connect the door fan to the MB so I can probe it for speeds, but it's missing the rpm line.

also, I need to get a couple flat switches to put in the front panel. then I can set them to turn the front LEDs on and off. When the 4-channel fan controller comes in, I'm going to hook the 2 back fans, the top fan and the front case fan to it. slow them down a bit when I don't need them.

my old case:
CPU = 76-80C
Mb = 45+C

my new case:
CPU = 58-61C
MB = 37C
and the case temp is ~25C

toggletoggle post by RustedAngel at Mar 2,2004 8:20pm
what are you measuring on your Motherboard for temps?

toggletoggle post by aliciagrace  at Mar 2,2004 8:29pm
i have a green iMac ^_^

toggletoggle post by Kalopsia   at Mar 3,2004 3:55am
i have a dell. and that's all i know about it

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Mar 3,2004 4:00am
I have a temp sensor in my board already.

the wierd thinf, I just turned around the 1 fans in the rear of my case (to blow out)
and put a fan sucking in near my harddrives
case temp = 92F (was 87ish)
CPU = 64C
MB = 33C

I'm going to put another fan in the front I guess.. this must be cooling my 20/60/100/120 harddrives.
I need to get those RAIDed 250s soon.

oh and DELL are the AOL of the computer world

toggletoggle post by RustedAngel at Mar 3,2004 8:50am
why would you have the rear fans blowing in dickhole?

it's supposed to pull in from the front and blow out the back.

toggletoggle post by RustedAngel at Mar 3,2004 8:50am edited Mar 3,2004 8:51am
i made some ghetto fan filters for my two front intake's using 250 mesh silkscreen from work. hehehe.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Mar 3,2004 8:57am
I'm going to do the same thing, but I'm not sure what to put there.
I've used brillo-type-pads before. I'm going to put them in when I put in the switch to turn off the LEDs

thinking about putting a second fan in the front (especially if I get dual 250GB 7200 drives).

and "dickhole", the fans I got didn't have arrows on them so I put them in wrong. now then are in right and I have the fan in the front. that means that my harddrives are much cooler.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Mar 3,2004 8:59am
oh, there is also this "postive pressure" thing that I might try to work out. it's a way to keep dust out of your case by sealing it up and keeping most of your fans turned inward. this causes there to be higher air-pressure inside the case and then dust stays out.
sounds like more work than it's worth.

toggletoggle post by RustedAngel at Mar 3,2004 8:59am
thats partly why they put the fans in the front.

hmm, switch to turn the LED's off? are you modding something?

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Mar 3,2004 9:00am
yes

toggletoggle post by Kalopsia   at Mar 3,2004 11:49am
is there a machine to get dust out of your room? cause that would be awesome

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Mar 3,2004 11:56am
yes, a hepafilter.
though if you put a micro-filter on your intake fans for a computer like tom and I have, you could use your computer.

things on my wall actually rock from the breeze out the top of my new case. it rocks. I think I'm going to have to put it in a case with a glass front when I do the whole "entertainment center" thing. otherwise the quiet parts of movies might not be as cool.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Mar 3,2004 1:32pm
I just got a power splitter and a little clicker switch.
it's red... I'm going to paint it black I guess.

YES WE FRIGGEN DID, and when I went over my friend Ian & Glen's house last night and seeing how they both have PCI-X rigs and one of them playing QUAKE 4 at 1600x1200 at highest quality with anti aliasing made me very angry at my PC.

toggletoggle post by DreamingInExile   at Nov 23,2005 1:02pm
AHAHAHAAHAHA

they running Intel CPU's or AMD CPU's?

I'd love to build a new system with the specs I have in mind...

They're definitely Intel doodz as am I.

Next PC...2 gigs of ddr2 ram, some ridiculously expensive pci express video card all setup in a cardboard box.

good stuff! Intel is the way to go. AMD's aren't bad, but for multipurpose machines (gaming/recording/graphics/etc) it's Intel all the way.

now, if I wasn't gonna buy Shawn's head, I'd dump that cash into a new system... but I need a new amp first
