New England needs more of these. Watching all the worthless human beings getting their world flipped upside down was very entertaining. What a beautiful and destructive storm!!! Anyone take any pics?

Took me an hour and 45 minutes to get to work but boy was it worth it. Saw the roof of a truck caved in from a tree, telephone poles flipped over, a 100 ft tall tree hanging on power lines, a angry guy in a pick up truck kicking over road blocks and running them over... Yesah

toggletoggle post by Paul CNV at Dec 13,2008 12:45pm
Not to mention the total black out for 30 plus hours... I'm luvin it

I feel like i missed out on something down here in Connecticut.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Dec 13,2008 1:45pm
it ruled. no streets lights on and everyone being civil was the coolest.
just got internet/cable back,

toggletoggle post by Paul CNV at Dec 13,2008 1:47pm
It did'nt hit Conneticut? Where did it hit? I have not watched tv in days so I am still in the dark about the magnitude of this storm... Hopefully some people died

I saw some transformer station blow up and lit the fuckin sky up like Christmas. Happy Holidays!!!

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Dec 13,2008 1:50pm
basically all NH. idk about VT. mass got all rain.
it raped all along 101.
My dad in hilsborough won't have power til at least tuesday.

toggletoggle post by Paul CNV at Dec 13,2008 1:55pm
I ain't seen nuthin like it bub... Never in all my years in New Hampshah seen any fuckin thing like this

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Dec 13,2008 1:58pm
it's weird on the coast cause trees and lines are wrecked everywhere, but the ice melted away like a silent bandit. I drove down 101 last night and the sides of the highway were like a crystal statue.

the last ice storm that was "massive" took 50,000 people off the grid. this storm took 450,000 in NH.

Good movie.

Tobey Maguire, Christina Ricci, Elijah Wood and Katie Holmes are all in this too.

negative.

im in uxbridge 20 minutes south of worcester where it just rained.

Worcester was declared to be in a state of emergency.

I work in worcester and that place was trashed. looked like a tornado hit. EVERY tree in the city is either fallen over or had most of its branches fall off. No traffic lights in most of the city and on lunch break yesterday everything was closed with no power so I had to go back to work and eat out of a vending machine.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Dec 13,2008 2:29pm
that is awesome.
I'm just going with what I heard.

toggletoggle post by andy on crack(berry) at Dec 13,2008 5:03pm
Still no power here. Starting to get annoying. After this is over, I'm getting a fucking generator.

toggletoggle post by immortal13 at Dec 13,2008 5:12pm
My area of NH was also declared in state of emergency, as well as the Salem/Plaistow area. Haven't even heard anything about up north yet. I got my power back reasonably fast but there's still a lot of areas with no street lights or anything. I saw a tree that fell in someones driveway that took out both of their cars. One road in Salem was closed because a telephone poll was hanging on the branch of a tree and the wires were in the road.

But the scenery was just awesome.

And there are less people on AIM right now than I've seen in years, which probably has something to do with this.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Dec 13,2008 6:03pm
yeah. I noticed there aren't many peeps online.

andy: you are getting a generator so in 10 years when this happens again, you will be set?

toggletoggle post by immortal13 at Dec 13,2008 6:08pm
Most of the people that are on are using AIM mobile, or aren't even from NH. This sucks I can't even talk to anyone online right now, and I'm not leaving for Drive By Brian's birthday party until around 9.

toggletoggle post by Hungtableed at Dec 15,2008 1:08am
I just got my power on tonight. What a gift after getting home from work at 12:20 and after almost 72 hours of no power, heat, or hot water. I didn't bitch once. I sucked it up, showered a few times in single digit temps. and drank bourbon and piled on blankets to stay alive at night. There to accomodate, A more sensible whiskey warmth

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Dec 15,2008 4:09am
yeah, everyone is freaking out about something that happens once every 10 years. will that hastily bought generator even work then?

toggletoggle post by largefreakatzero at Dec 15,2008 8:55am
Still no power/no water. Been getting buckets of water out of our brook to flush toilets. I am so buying a generator when this is over. I don't care what you fucking whackjobs say, this is NOT appreciated.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Dec 15,2008 9:35am
and I hope your generator works in 10 years when you need it again. In 10 years, I hope to be running on dilithium crystal

toggletoggle post by Yeti at Dec 15,2008 12:44pm
i have never in my life seen a storm wreak havoc like this. my entire neighborhood is destroyed. on Thursday night my roommate and i sat outside at about 3 and just watched the carnage unfold, there was about 8 straight hours of "CRAAACK.....SMAAASH". it was like something out of a movie.

toggletoggle post by Hungtableed at Dec 15,2008 12:54pm
I have to say I was legitimately concerned about the 80 ft + pine trees across the street. After a few huge branches fell off them, I slept in the living room. Yea, Im a pussy.

10 years? Dude, I live in the woods, try after every thunderstorm.

Settle down with your dildo crystals, or whatever.

eh, dying is unsavory

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Dec 15,2008 2:08pm
if my power went out every storm, I would already have a generator. 5500 watt for $800 at homedepot!

toggletoggle post by largefreakatzero at Dec 15,2008 2:18pm
I exaggerate, but I do need one. I am going with a propane deal that kicks on automatically - no fucking around.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Dec 15,2008 2:51pm
does that mean you are getting a 400gal propane tank? the cellstation that is in with the WUNH transmitter has one of those. thing's burly, but they can run off it for probably a week or two.

toggletoggle post by largefreakatzero at Dec 15,2008 4:28pm
I already have a 500 gallon propane tank -- my heat, hot water and stove all run off propane.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Dec 15,2008 4:33pm
if you get another one for the generator, you are going to look like you are planning for either war or an alien landing.

I walked into work yesterday morning, and my boss has an air matress spread in his office and has all his food, his grill, and his dog at the shop. He lives in the middle of Brookline, so basically the middle of the middle of nowhere, so he's not gonna be seeing any power until the end of the week. So him and his girlfriend have been sleeping at the shop.

toggletoggle post by FuckIsMySignature at Dec 16,2008 6:12pm
2 more ice storms headin this way apparently

toggletoggle post by largefreakatzero at Dec 16,2008 6:48pm
I STILL have no power. Just got the PSNH list with all the projections -- my town is still in the IDK category. GAY.

FYI, a 5 gallon pail of water gets you about 2 toilet flushes. Just so you know.
