I wasn't as impressed I thought I was going to be by this OR the new Deeds. It's good and some songs are even pretty good but I don't know how much I love this stuff.
sounds weird without dusty. its missing that severed savior feel and more like an odious/severed sang-wedge. probobly my least fav 'SS' album.

Easily the best thing Severed Savior has ever done. Could give a shit about the change in vocalist. Also, they seem to have gotten over their trend of having near identical sounding slammy riffs in every song.

I like new Deeds better though.
See, i like the cd quite a bit, but i think they still do have identical slam parts in almost every song. It's the only real downside of the record for me. And it does sound like Odius... big time.

and does any one else catch the complete dimeola rip off in the acoustic interlude? one or two of the riffs are almost completely comped off of friday night in san francisco.
dont get me wrong, the music is tight and its very well done (decerpit birth could stand to take some notes on this release) but its a bit grandiose and at times pretentious/ long winded, which is cool for some bands but for severed it seems unfitting..
by contrast i think the new deeds is pretty damn cool. lots of interesting stuff and although progressive (relative to the deeds body of work) it still retains a distinctly deeds-ish feel.
