New site? Maybe some day.
I think I'm shooting that. |
I'm going just so I can finally shoot the band with the magically band name "michael fights the dragon" |
does anyone know lynn arts? I hope I can just walk up and say who I am and then walk in without a hassle. |
voyager isn't playing this anymore. lame. |
well, voyager was the reason I said "neat show"...no offense to the other bands, but I have no idea who they are. |
I'm heading off to this now. |
ok, so im in. all set. the show hasn't started yet. but shortly. this place is right behind 31 exchange street and not at 25 exchange st. 25 exchange st is a wonderful example of a retro post-modern working class downtown mom and pop store. IOW: it's an empty shop front. |
although ursa is going on now. so advance this 40 minutes.
Ursa 6-6:30
A city asleep 6:40-7:10
Indignus 7:20-7:50
Michael fights the dragon 8-8:30
Life as a weapon 8:40-9:30 |
this venue is pretty cool. the hole entrance way is an old safe. |
6pm walking through downtown lynn and every white dude on the street is 50-ish and lit. You gotta love the city of sin.
ursa: I saw promise in the brief show I saw them at. I know that they have had line up changes since them so I wanted to make it here for them. They took so long to set up cause they forgot everything at home. Set was quick. I thought they had a keyboard player or something.
a city asleep: the picture on myspace makes the singer look a hell of a lot more chunky than real life. Trying to capture that whole "fat kid leading a hardcore band" thing. Then people get to the show thinking A City Asleep is all xtuffx, but when they find out the singer isn't plus sized... They felt tricked. And to top it off, they have a nw singer starting tomorrow who did the last 2 songs. He looked really familiar. They had insta-mosh. When the singers switched, the other singer jumped on geetah.
indignus: damn, neeeeeeew drums. Those things were either fresh out of the box of anally cared for. This was the first band that it was completely dark for. Made for better pictures IMHO. They had plenty of people moshing for them throughout their set. During a few places, one of the guitarists and the bassist (both on wireless) ran to the back of the room and played from there. Though im sure people tried, not a single note was lost to a wayard karate chop or spin kick. The power of wireless complels you. |
great show, i got there probably half way through indignus. it's sad to see Life as a Weapon/Piller of Autumn come to an end. I'm good friends with the bassist and both the new and old singer |
michael fights the dragon: they were pretty sweet, just like I figured. The myspace tracks sounded a bit more epic, but one they started, the crowd closed in and it was much harder for me to get shots. I heard they had a keyboard player before. It could help or hurt their sound.
Life as a weapon: I saw them as POA in NH once over a year ago. They have definitely gotten a lot better. That was very early in their existence. Since I didn't see them after they solidified themselves more, but with the amount of people all about them. They had people climbing up the speakers and the singer crowd surfed. I'm glad that I got down there to check thse guys out again. not sure about the "old" and "new" singer. I only knew the one with the glasses. |
Did Captain Janeway do a sick gravity blast while Tuvok did some killer inhales? |
your nerdy intentions go beyond even the sci-fi channel. |
Trve kvlt science fiction warriors refer to it as SF, not sciffy. |
tell that to the dude who coined the phrase sci-fi and just died of heart failure. he found ray bradbury too. |
