New site? Maybe some day.

First I'd like to say I am not a complete retard when it comes to this shit, I know more then the average pc user, but then somethings are just beyond me.
I turned my comp on today to record and the thing is acting fucked. I move the mouse across the screen and the audio drops, I do anything the audio drops. I am watching the cpu monitor in the corner and I see that it is spiking.
So I reboot the comp, go into dos and check my temp. 94.85 degrees C.
Excuse me if I am wrong, but isn't that TOO FUCKING HOT?
It just started this shit today, my fans are working fine, I just recently cleaned the heat sink and the fans.
heres my set up I know it's old, but it, up until now has been bulletproof
Pentium 4 HT 3.2
2 gigs ddr
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Oh and I already deleted my system 32 folder... it did not help

I had one that ran at 86C.
pIV's can run around 76-82 easily. sounds like a fan died. crack open your case and look. PIV's had blowers off the chip. |
|
Thanks rev, The case is open, and all the fans are running.
Here's some more detailed info.
CPU Die/package 94.09
MB 39.25
MB 31.82
ICH 54.28
MCH 46.25
Could I have fucked the heatsink up when i cleaned the dust and shit out of it? |
|
the only thing that could have happened is the heat sink came unseated... highly unlikely, but possibly |
|
dont listen to rev... all the comps he builds break according to him XD |
