And don't give me any of this Dimmu Booger/ Amon Amarth crap either....
I mean CLASSICS .
You know, shit you can hear over & over without burning out on it.

I tried to make everything I added older, so it could be truly classic. There are other albums I like more than some of these, but I kept it to one album per band.

5.dying fetus - KOA ( a lot might disagree but it changed the face of DM)

9.cryptopsy - WS
10. meshuggah- Chaossphere

granted this is only off the top of my head the list changes every now and then. But i think these are definatly some classic metal discs

I had a feeling someone would notice this. I debated entering it myself. I tried to put things that were classic to me. Still Life was one of the most important albums I ever heard. It changed how I listened to music. As for Dimmu and Amon Amarth, they are both AWESOME.

that whole thing was copied from another board i just put my bands on at the end. of course there will be bands that are essential from today on there. i kinda mixed mine up...but i am ashamed; i admit, i did forget reign in blood... that album changed everything for me. but the idea was classic like 80's or early nintys....and i do understand that most of you werent even born yet. but how much does older stuff have on you today. that was what originally got me interested. its all metal and thats all that really matters.

that initial list is all thrashy stuff. if this is going to be a CLASSIC list then its definitely going to be more NWOBHM bands than thrash. And Black Sabbath would be there. Iron Maiden as well.

they are good for a live show, but their music is crap. I know that they aret serious, but there is no way that any of their albums are classic. they are a joke and that is what i consider them and their music to be, a joke. you can listen to them for funny lyrics but not good metal riffs because they lack truly good riffing.

i agree. gwar blows. i have seen them three times, all because i wanted to see someone else. wow, a brutal puppet show, awesome! it's fun for maybe 15 mins.

I love the song Meat Sandwich because of its awesome riffs! It has three guitar parts and some stuff they do just sounds really good. Like in the pre-chorus one of the guitarist is playing a riff made up completely of harmonics (either natural or harp, probably harp). I know this isn't very original, but the riff sounds really cool.
