I just loaded it up. looks "meh" so far. they updated the way the characters look so that they are taller.

toggletoggle post by aril at Oct 20,2008 4:28pm
any FF past 1997 is false.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Oct 20,2008 4:30pm
this is a re-make of FFIII on the snes right? as long as they keep the core stuff, this will rule.

toggletoggle post by aril at Oct 20,2008 4:31pm
even Martins agrees

toggletoggle post by aril at Oct 20,2008 4:31pm
There's already a remake for GBA.
what are they (changing) doing now?

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Oct 20,2008 4:33pm
I just want to play a version of FFIII from the snes in my hands.

get a Sony PSP, upgrade firmware, get emulator + roms for SNES and play via Sony PSP.

toggletoggle post by aril at Oct 20,2008 4:36pm
looked at screenshots and puked.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Oct 20,2008 4:36pm
ugh! this is FFII, not FFIII. that sucks.

lol tits and pussies

I got the remake on GBA because I never had an SNES and never finished III on an emulator. I figured I could beat the game and take a shit at the same time. So I did.

Except that IV is not III. VI is. I was recently playing IV and was really turned off by the flow of events and the meh plot. I'd play VI over V or IV or the others. Except 10 and MAYBE 12.

MARTINS:
do you have the GBA ffVI? That's one I'm missing.

toggletoggle post by Martins   at Oct 20,2008 5:51pm
I sold it back to GameStop once I beat it and used some of the money to buy FFXII I think. Srrryz.

toggletoggle post by Martins   at Oct 20,2008 5:53pm
Also, I got IV and V reversed. I was playing V not IV. V sucked. If I had a DS I'd be playing this shit. I love updates. But I still don't know if it'd be as great as VI, V or 10 and MAYBE 12.

4 is way worse than 5. 5 had the cool job system as opposed to characters just being randomly killed off or whatever to accommodate skill needs in different areas. The plot in 4 was so no better than 5 either, how many times can one guy be mind controlled?

order of goodness 6,7,12,5,1,3ds,10,4,9,8,2(only because the programming is so flawed)

beat them all except 9,8,2

i'm trying to beat 6 now with an average level of 7.

toggletoggle post by Martins   at Oct 20,2008 10:30pm
10 is amazing. Don't deny it.

toggletoggle post by blue  at Oct 20,2008 10:35pm
i had this when i had a ds, i thought it ruled.

toggletoggle post by aril at Oct 21,2008 9:25am
Final Fantasy Legend II and III fot the original gameboy should be mentioned as well.
Loved those games.

OK, I JUST WANT TO PLAY FFIII THAT WAS ON THE ORIGINAL SNES, BUT ON MY NINTENDO DS. HOW THE FUCK DO I DO THIS?

I played the ROMs of FFV/FFVI jap-translates years ago. almost beat FFV (very chocobo centric), but then my emu messed up.

toggletoggle post by aril at Oct 21,2008 10:04am
Not sure about doing it on DS. I've heard you can on PSP though.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Oct 24,2008 7:56pm
as I'm playing it, I realize that I thought this was V from a translated ROM. I definitely played this on an emulator, but lost my game 1/2 way through.

Get your hands on a flash card. I'm sure there's some SNES emulators for the DS.

toggletoggle post by arilliusbm  at Nov 26,2008 9:24am

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Nov 26,2008 9:41am

what's the issue?

ff3 snes = ff6

ff6 was re-released for gba, and there are very few differences between the two. So just buy it for gba, and play it on your DS.
