new songs are more technical i guess. they dont have the feeling of the first album though. big ole meh from me. i'll probably still pick up the cd though.

It's definetely different feeling... parts remind me of BTBAM. I'm amused by the number of people who liked the demo version of Ancient better.

I REALLY hope this new album isnt just prog wankery...this band KNOWS how to be heavy...just fuckin do it

toggletoggle post by ConquerTheBaphomet  at Oct 16,2008 2:01pm
These songs sound good. Made the pre-order.

OH NO. Does it suck? I don't do myspace so i don't know. DAMON!!! Bring the tracks tonight for me to hear.

I would be SOOOOOO bummed if the new record is just wanky prog crap. I worship the first record. I practice beats from it in my daily routine, they are NOT allowed to put out a second album that sucks. I won't let them.

Already got em, they'll be brought tonight.

toggletoggle post by ouchdrummer   at Oct 16,2008 2:59pm
i figured you would. You know me so well. *blush*

toggletoggle post by ouchdrummer   at Oct 16,2008 2:59pm
How many are there?

toggletoggle post by narkybark   at Oct 16,2008 3:01pm
One brand new one, and a studio version of the one you heard before

toggletoggle post by ouchdrummer   at Oct 16,2008 3:04pm
and the studio version of ancient is worse?! WTF man?

toggletoggle post by mOe  at Oct 16,2008 3:05pm
And so far the two are just proggy stuff...no heavy riffs...kind of a shame. I loved how they balanced the two on the first cd.

toggletoggle post by ouchdrummer   at Oct 16,2008 3:06pm
i couldnt get enough of the first one.

toggletoggle post by narkybark   at Oct 16,2008 3:09pm
it's not worse, but it has a way different feel. The guitar has a much more spacey quality to it now, with lot of vibrato and whammy. Bass sound is better. They replaced the synth voice with a robot voice. Uh... well you'll hear it soon enough.

toggletoggle post by Yeti at Oct 16,2008 3:22pm
i'll say it again, damn these "awesome first album" bands.

and i will say again... it's cause the first record is always the best the band can offer that they've had all the time in the world to perfect.

yea, you have your whole life to write your first album and 6-8 months to write the second one if you're lucky

Akeldama is amazing. I like these songs a lot because I do like progressive music, very much so. I'll admit it's not as heavy as Akeldama, but I will also admit that I still really like these songs.
