THE DARKNESS Set For OZZFEST's Main Stage - Feb. 12, 2004

British rock sensation THE DARKNESS have secured a slot at this year's Ozzfest, informed sources have told BLABBERMOUTH.NET. They will join OZZY OSBOURNE, JUDAS PRIEST and SLAYER on the main stage at the festival, which is set to kick off in early July. As previously reported, SLIPKNOT and HATEBREED are expected to co-headline Ozzfest 2004's second stage. Other bands believed to be close to being confirmed for the festival include DIMMU BORGIR, SUPERJOINT RITUAL and BLACK LABEL SOCIETY. An official announcement regarding the exact lineup for the festival is expected to be made at a press conference on Thursday, February 19.

Since its inaugural run in 1996, Ozzfest has grossed $146.5 million from 236 shows that have drawn 3.8 million metalheads, primarily to outdoor amphitheaters, according to Billboard.com. Last year, Ozzfest grossed $23.5 million and drew 481,857 people.

They must break a lot of crayons drawing that many people that doesn't actually exist.
