just got here now throwdowns on. Smaller turnout then i thought

got here, all the passes are f'd up. I've had nothing but issues all but one of the max shows I've been to. you need a photopass for each of the individual bands and each pass has to go through max's tour manager. she only gave me a BYD pass after being a pita. when you talk to her she has no clue and just walks off mumbling. so im probably getting kicked out before CC. hopefully I can atleast shoot DEP with out issues.
I will say that both BYD and Throwndown are class acts and with out being asked they have both gone out of their way to help me and karen (metal union)

why wouldnt any touring want to help you, it's not like youre making money off those pictures.

it was just cool to turn around and have them all going out of their way to help me when I didn't even ask them. it was DEP's mess up.

bury your dead: my first time seeing them with the singer from cassius, mike.. Myke whatever. He was excellent. I really liked him in cassius too. Good energy on stage and everything. One sucky thing about the band is that eric (guitar player who got fleeced out of his jewels by some rabble rousers) is missing. I hear he's out of the band. Sucks. The new guy worked with them just fine... Still.

throwdown: played their older songs sammiched between new songs. Again, excellent energy. This band truly needs a no barricade show to get down with their bad selves on stage. personally, I would have like shooting them better on warp tour (like last year), but this is better than nothing.
dillinger escape plan: craziness and new member. The original dudes jump and swung around. New guitar player and drummer (who looked like kosmo kramer). Still, the songs sounded pristine on that stage. As much as these guys have evolved over the years, they still keep it real with the real blinding lights and spazmodic music. well, as real as you can on a big stage with blinding lights. I was told that my head was almost taken off twiced by the guitar player.

a drunken anderson is yelling at me that im off his xmas card list. im not taking my camera out until I'm shooting CC so I don't get in trouble or whatever. sorry anderson! not being elitish, just being safe cause of the issues I've hade with their tour.

review of cavalera, rev?

basically, it was what soulfly has been doing for a while except heavy on the sepultura. Cavelera conspiracy doesn't have enough of their own songs yet. The entire band was so stationary, except for rizo who could jump spin-kick around the stage like crazy while playing spanish flaminco music and it would seem perfectly normal. The rest of the band looked horrible. I don't know what was up with them, but they looked like they ran through fear and loathing in brazil, didn't sleep an got the fuck up on the stage. also, max seems to be wearing the costume from one of he ancient ones in the Dark Crystal. his fubo get up for soulfly seems a lot smaller and more manageable on stage. Whatever. I love sepultura in a serious way, but I looked down their set list and saw almost all songs that I heard soulfly play. The coolest thing would have been seeing roots at the end, but I didn't feel like sitting there for an hour to get to the pay off.
