I work at a college and this kit, among other things was just out in the hallway waiting to be thrown away. Fucker only needs like $200 in upgrades and repairs. Hopefully I'll have it up and running by the Fall. Its a Yamaha, despite the Ludwig resonant head. There was also a room full of old drums and snares and shit that i'll most likely be able to get my hands on in the coming weeks as well.

my calculations were correct in terms of the maintenance needed on this kit. It'd cost me about $300 solid if i got everything i needed from musicians friend. Shipping is free for orders that big so I'll most likely end up doing that. Not for a few months, though. This Summer is kicking my financial ass.
