where do I buy stainless steel wire? i need 1/8th inch wire.

they used to sell it in rolls at walmart/home depot.

how much wire do you need? i'm a welder. might be able so snag some stainless tig welding filler rods at work if there is any. stainless and copper is expensive and they keep track of it like a mofo.

Stainless is hard and durable. Nickle Silver (which doesn't have silver) is soft and wears over time. Stainless won't do that on you.

every guitar manufacturer I can think of uses nickle.

and have you ever tried to crown and fret dress stainless steel? have fun with that. Nickle barely wears at all. you might haveto replace a fret in what... 10.. 15 years from now?

I guess to each his own. I'm aware that most manufacturers use nickle.

I also like a bright string sound. Oh well!

same fret wire ESP, jackson, shecter, kramer, etc uses.

its for making coils for hydrogen production... i think the filler rods might be too short how long are they?

i just tried this with regular steel rods and it worked ok... but they will rust quick
