My last time in a real studio was with In Dire Need for the Lost At Sea ep. We recorded with Kurt at Godcity studio's. His price/finished product was a good deal, and very competitive. This was by far my most positive recording experiance. We had a great time, lots of laughs, and he was VERY easy to work with.

We sent that off to be mastered by Allen at west west side music. He did a great job, and the price was also great. I highly recomend west west side music in NY for mastering.

Since then I have been doing a lot of my own stuff so I don't really have much to say about that. Who has everyone else been going to? Good prices? Real Professional?

Ian at Echo Room in Uxbridge, Ma is, in my opinion, the best studio for the money in New England. Its $25 an hour for the good shit.

Morrisound studios.
It was a great time. We didn't pay a dime, but what did you expect. Blue, Eric and I traveled in a coach bus, but Will traveled in his own private jet. When he arrived, he was all drunk and calling everyone fagots. During tracking, Blue and I made a bong out of a human femur and Eric ate chicken nuggets in a brown colored speedo for 3 days.

Mad Oak Studios....solid recording

great deal for what you have access to, and...

Devin is a genius, and his input is a great resource.

the two tracks we have on our page were recorded there this past Jan, Feb and March. http://www.myspace.com/perunsshore we are completely satisfied

I heard rick rubin showed up in Ed Force One. Any truth behind this?

We recorded Archaeon's EP "Vanitas" a few months back with Ryan Nolan at The Breaking Studios. He was a great guy and put up with a lot of our bullshit. For the money the EP came out sounding damn good. It was all at his house so it was really relaxed and I had a great time recording.

Yes Josh. Rubes was there for emotional support and successful jewish bearded-ness.

damn, that release is going to be sick as fuck!

stonecutter productions in holbrook was pretty good. $20/hr. we were low on cash at the time though and had to bust it all out in one ten hour session. that was interesting.

we also recorded at the now-non-existant C2 studios in worcester. i think teratism did their second release there. i can't remember the prices but matt cole did some good work down there. it's a shame he had to shut down. i think some band recorded like 100 hours with him and then never gave him a cent.

Backyard Studios in Milford, NH with Johnny Fey. Awesome experience and he was very easy to work with. $2500 for 30 minutes of music and he mixed and mastered. Also, he's a drum genius. Our drums were NOT triggered

Jay Maas @ Getaway Recording Studios in Wakefield, MA. AWESOME prices. AWESOME, dude. He's wicked busy most of the time but I think he's booking the fall right now. For tracking everything in his basement, pretty much under the stairs it sounds phenomenal.

Those mp3's are actually from a first master. The finished product sounds way better than those tracks.

They're in the top friends on our myspace page. There's also a real website which I'm sure you can find off of that as well.

Getaway Recordings is fucking top drawer. I was really impressed with that dude. Great setup, good dude, knows his stuff, and has a modified Dreamcast with every Nintendo game ever on it.

damn. I should have been there for the Lost at Sea recording. Joey wanted me to go but I couldn't make it. That's why I emailed him those clips I guess

I heard there was more to that story. Namely a brandy glass full of brown M&M's, a little sweet shop on the edge of town, and a shopkeeper family that was beaten to death with their own shoes.

We have a full studio in our jam space. Our guitar player Jeff ran all the engineering. Probably not the best in the world, but it was FREE. We are preparing to start recording again...

Finished the final 4 songs of the 3rd Piledriver record at MetalWorks in Mississauga last weekend. Full on Neve board, tons'o'outboard geer. Many gold records on the walls. Dunno how much it cost, but it wasn't cheep. Awesome live room. Had an actual Telefunkin U-47 on my bass rig. Next up is mixing with Neil Kernon. CD release is scheduled for the end of October.

As much as I try to avoid shameless self promotion, I can't resist at the moment. Right before we (Dreaded Silence) went on hiatus I recorded and mixed our last EP at Wellspring Sound in Acton. HUGE studio with awesome gear prices cheaper than big corporate studios in the area. Not really the kind of place for bands on a really tight budget though.
