In my opinion, this is the best death metal album to come out so far this year. Anyone else heard it yet? If so, what do you think?

The new Weezer album is the best death metal album to come out this year.

I agree, it's right up there. I think there is another thread discussing this somewhere.

toggletoggle post by immortal13 at Jun 10,2008 2:36pm
If there is, I missed it.

I've been listening to this WAY too much.

toggletoggle post by Martins   at Jun 28,2008 6:33pm
I think it's okay.

I wouldn't call this the best album this year but it's the best album for Origin.

I haven't listened to it enough yet. I got it right before Death Fest or so, and when I came from Death Fest I had a TON of CDs to listen to. THey were piled all over my turntable and desk and I didn't really want to start my turntable again until I got through all those CDs and filed them away. I just got to putting them away this week. Now I have been getting back to my vinyls.

Long story short, I'm gonna listen to it again later tonight. Really fast death metal like that needs several listens before I get my head around it enough to get much of a reaction out of it. What I know so far is that drums are life ending.

this album rules but i dont think its quite as catchy as echoes of decimation. longstreth does some really cool shit though.

I can never get the first song outta my head. So intense. The rest of the cd is just as awesome, but it's that first song that always makes me think it's an amazing recording.

i cannot get enough of this album... absolutely crushing. and the song Antithesis is insane. 10 minutes?! yes.

Tom, did you get to see em when they came around to club hell or church? They were awesome. When i was talking to em they seemed to not like this one as much as their other ones, they said it felt like they "sold out".. crazy talk, i love this album.

Amazing on all fronts, but esp. the DRUMMING! And whoever produced it also gets a medal. "Aftermath" = fave jam.

the drumming is unreal. what i like most is the production on the vocals tho... little bit of echo makes his voice huge but its on the same level as the instruments so its not too overbearing
