I talked to the bassist from Transistor/Transistor about getting a show with them and my band at the Brickhouse. Maybe The Network can jump on that too. |
Hopefully I'm not working cause I'll be there. |
I will be attending this because of my allegiance to Vaast. I was part of a few Network sing alongs at the Brickhouse and honestly I'm wary of the new members. We will see... |
New members are some of scummyest dudes I have ever met, they fit in more then christ on a ruber crutch!
See you guys sooooooooooo.n |
is transistor still playing this? didn't one of them get their appendix out? i hope they can still make it. |
One of them had there guts removed. |

One of them had there guts removed.
I also heard that the brickhouse has a bigger stage upstairs now...is this true? |
yes, totally true.
this will be my first trip there in a while. |
I will be walking to this after possible blunts. I haven't been drinking lately but isn't getting drunk at this unavoidable? |
Up chuck for da punx.
Tonight! |
Getting high with Charles (Vaast) currently. Listening to Don Henlely's New York Minute, no fucking lie. Pregaming later, feel the madness. |
Vaast is a goodtime theyre one of those bands im kinda surprised arent doing more shows with Tides, Disappearer, Sin of Angels and the such.
goodtunes doods |
They are playing a new fast song if I'm correct. I lived with 2 of them, now 1, and I've seen the band from the beginning. Like any band all you can hope is they stay together. |
leaving in a few minutes. |
im here now. bands starting at 9:15 |
talk modern just finished. really good playing. people are right to compare them to queen of the stone age. not really any type of music that I would listen to, but hey did it really well. the last song had this weird beat before the change up after th chorus. sounded like a mess up but they did it atleast 4 times. |
carry the torch: they were really good and had a pro-polished sound to them there. But I definitely heard the end of another band in almost every song they played. I really wished that I could remember who it was. They were very interesting on stage so I took a ton of pictures. The billy madison sample in the beginning was awesome. I kept thinking the singer was doug heffernan untill he took off that backwards baseball hat.
vaast: (noun) definition: what happens when you take one person from 1/2 the bands I've shot on that stage. mostly doomy when I was expecting db/hate filled stuff. They played some songs that were 100% new, even to them. The weirdest this about their set was seeing the drummer, jeff, drinking beer. Weird. News flash: tom cootter to break edge next. |
they also used all different things at the beginning to make music.
the_network is setting up on the floor. |
The pics are dope as hell. Thanks rev for the stickers, and the compliment. "I listened to you music and I thought it would suck but it didn't." Here's my 2 cents review.
First 2 bands, wasn't interested. I do agree with the QOTSA comparison of the 1st band. I did enjoy them more than Carry the Torch, I thought they were generic.
Vaast- My bros. I thought they were great. If you'd never seen them before you'd think they were a fast band. Mostly new songs, but still had the doom in effect. I would describe the sound as dirty. It reflects NH and the attitudes of all the people I know.
The_Network It had been quite a while since I'd seen these dudes. 1st time with the new members too. I thought they were awesome, though the second guitarist wasn't there long. Not sure what happened, or maybe I do. They played on the floor, I thought the bass player was great, I do prefer the old singer though. A guitar was thrown into a face, I did catch that. Followed by some guitar cases, which adds to the fun. Tension possibly? Either way I had a great time, ended up drunk and now hungover.
Back to the Brick House tonight to host the hip hop night, its free, come through. Underground ruggedness, not that fairy shit, I listen to metal

Metal make Charlie angry. Charlie need tissue.

network, the: they had some guy I think a photographer from cali who was doing their merch. he broke the first rule of seeing the_network. never lose track of pete. For whatever reason, pete tossed his guitar into the face of the photographer. then he stormed around and threw other things. This is all while everything was looking around for kevin. he just left after the first song and went downstairs. The last few songs were pretty much just anarchy. people diving for the mic, diving for people, and diving for cover. |
about 4 days ago from a pedal board to the eye
then followed up with a gitter
love this dude but fuck he seemed to always get the brunt of things. He ended flying home to Reno this morning, his friends are gonna be like what a bunch assholes you hung with...not sure I disagree.
