are better than american ones.

Just watched city of god and city of lost children

first one is a brazilian crime drama about a photographer growing up in the slums amongst a drug gang war, true story.

city of lost children: french film, stars ron perlman as a big dope who needs to rescue his little brother from an evil cult of scientists who extract dreams from children in order to gain youth

city of god will ruin you.

I've always been really curious about city of lost children. Every time I see the cover for it at Blockbuster it reminds me of Dark City, which was also an incredible movie.

It always gets said, but read the book. You get the grit and grime (and even more brutality) without the distracting, flashy MTV sheen.

And Delicatessen >>>> City of Lost Children

Flame on!

Not all are better.
But many are damn good.

I fell that alot of people say that they love them or whatever because they think they sound smart or mature or someshit. give me a break.

Definitely. And it's also just because you don't see all of the shitty foreign films, and trust me, there are a ton! It's also usually not that they are better either, just a different view of the world and as a result, very refreshing.

true

I just watch whatever sounds interesting to me, just coincidence that I love a lot of the foreign films I have seen. for one asian horror is far superior to american on most levels, that's something that can't be argued against.

Oh yes, kung fu hustle and nightwatch (daywatch too) to add to the awesome foreign films list.

Read the books

Twilight/Dusk Watch is already shaping up to be a huge disaster and who knows how the hell they are going to tie Americans into the plot. I'll go see it regardless because I love the story, ah well.

A lot of Asian horror is just as formulaic as our horror, and just rehashes Whispering Corridors over and over and over. It's just a little more stylized.

way ahead of you brotha, i'm awaiting the final watch english translation which will be out july 11th in america.

Awesome series of books, I love how they tie history into the books, like how edgar allen poe might have been an other and the norse mythology in day watch. and the fact that merlin and jesus were both magicians and the only zero level Others.
