Being a car finatic I was totally in shock to see such a thing in my hood. Now it has me on a huge supercar kick again and youtubing all kinds of shit I can never afford. Anyone want to buy me that sweedish meatball in the pic?

I'd settle for a black on black on black 08 Z06 if you will settle for a cheaper Jag...

Isn't there a Lotus place in Brighton?
You can probably rent one of those suckers for a day or two.

I remember seeing a Lotus Esprit (Sp?) V8 in Rome. The dude stopped and allowed us to take pics of it. Those aren't nearly as expensive as that car but they're an awesome car.

holds the record for the most expensive speeding ticket.

it was the fastest car in the world for like 10 seconds after the mclaren f1 and before the bugatti veyron and ultimate aero.

oh man, for a while there the McLaren F1 was my dream car. Those things shot up to like 230+mph.

Car still holds some of the fastest track records ever for a factory stock car. Still right on the top of the boards at top gear. Stig drove it to the fastest laps any production car has ever seen at their testing grounds. Veyron may give it an 8-10mph smackdown top end, but the new CCXR is only a month away from letting out it's top speed numbers. CCX did 245mph with 800 horse... they are saying the CCXR is going to have 1100 horse. I think the Veyron and aero better look out!

fastest I have been my self before letting off on two occasions was 175-180 somewhere. First time on my GSXR, second time in my Audi.

The ccx has quite a few stacked up against it on the TG board now if you've been following the 10th season.

the ascaris, caparo, zonda, atom, mercialago, carrera, and a few other cars were faster. They fitted an aftermarket spoiler and it took the top of the board yet, but the stock ccx didn't grip well enough in the turns.

I'd like to see it romp the aero and veyron. I think it's a much nicer car.

The Mclaren is still the better car to me. considering it's naturally aspired and was the fastest car for like.. 20 years makes it more impressive then a car with 8 turbos and intercoolers.

weren't only 2 McLaren F1s made a year?

I heard it took 6 months just to build one of them..

toggletoggle post by Joshtruction   at May 23,2008 11:44am
what car is running 8 turbo's and intercoolers? The top gear wing is now a 100% factory option on the CCX which means the CCX is on top of their board of production cars. There are just some nutty cars out there today.

3 seater Mclaren carbon fiber instrument of beautiful destruction gets a huge vote from me too. I'd still like to see what GM could do with the vette platform if they went true supercar. I'd also like to see how a bad ass factory five GTM would do against the other upercars on the track. You know, Invest as much in the GTM as you would for an entry level italian car like the 360 modena, then pin it against the best in the world.

8 turbos was sarcasm.

The Veyrons got 4.

I think the mclaren is the only nat aspired car that would hit the top 5 on the board.

and I'd be willing to bet if the CCX with the spoiler had a sequential tranny like the ascari, it would be the fastest car on their board.

I can't remember the figure off the top of my head, but VW lost something like 6 million dollars on all of the veyrons they made and sold.

I would LOVE to see what the GTM and Saleen S7 would hit on the topgear board.

I wish they used strictly american engineering the the GTM though.

they snagged the porsche g50 transaxle and the german ends there. Everything else is built off of the c5 corvette or custom factory five parts. The steering, frame, interior, exterior, and 75% of the suspension are factory five original design. It uses an LS1 motor mid mouted to a porsche g50 transaxle with a custom adaptor plate. C% vette steering column it's self, c5 vette brakes (or factory optional willwoods) vette gas tanks, vette a arms, hybrid FFR/vette wiring harness, vette door handles, and a few other little odds and ends here and there.

If you gotta call it anything you need to call it a vette with a porsche tranny. Personally I think they created one fine budget supercar. get a cracked up vette for 7k, a 20k dollar FFR kit, some time, paint, and you got a legit supercar. Factory vette running gear doesn't do the design justice by any means though. That shit needs an LS7, big brakes etc etc.

Does it have the seats in the back that face backwards? That would make it more awesome.

I love it when I'm at a red light in Worcester, and someone in a ghetto-fabulous sports car acts like they want to race me. Then, the light turns green, and my 1993 Toyota Corolla leaves them in the dust. Ha ha! After about 181,000 miles, that car can still kick butt.

ok, did anyone else think that josh was sitting at his computer? I didn't even think that he meant real mail. I was picturing him sitting in his window on his computer and this car drove by.
