As you know, most of the SxE people on this board vanished and the drug users / metal band members make the majority now.
Just curious.

Just saying; most metal people avidly share a hatred for anything to do with HxC and SxE. I remember a while ago when a lot of the members on this board were HxC and SxE and people were complaining about pot smoke and alcoholics at shows.

I don't hate hardcore and straightedge people. I just like to make fun of them.

I mean, this thread wasn't meant to be a shot at them, I'm just curious. There's such a gap in beliefs and music. It just seems that a good 95% of the people on this board drink and/or do other things.
Most hardcore sxers don't want subject themselves to that kind of crowd. (or at least the ones I know) Then again, what do I know, I never was a hxc sxe ximtoughx person.

I'm straightedge and post here like it's my fucking job. Then again, I hate 99% of the "straightedge" population because they're all a bunch of fucking faggots who parade their personal choice around like the World's Coolest Person trophy. I'd much rather hang out with my laid back friends who partake in mild substance every now and then than associate myself with uptight assholes who have nothing else better to do than tell others how to live their lives and complain about other peoples' choices. I could go on for hours about what's wrong with "straightedge" and the bastardization of its culture, but I'll stop because I have to finish about 8 million art projects...oh, and draw gigantic Xs on my hands while I 2-step around my room to Bane. Ugh.

Oh, and I listen to maybe 4 or 5 hardcore bands. REAL hardcore bands though.

I listen to primarily hardcore who thinks just about every modern day metal band is boring faggot music. And am an alcoholic who pops pills. OMG MAN WITHOUT A COUNTRY

Pretty much my views exactly. Anything I do in my life I do for my self, I don't give two shits about other people's choices unless they effect me. I am straight edge and 90% of the time prefer to hang with people who are not.

I was sxe until i was 19, but before that I didn't label myself straight edge because i didnt think a choice i made to not drink or drug needed a title. And i didn't feel like it was grounds to affiliate myself with other people who also didnt feel like drinking or drugging. I only knew ONE real hardcore straight edge kid while i was edge.

there used to be a site that listed all the "edgebreakers" in MA and it gave a brief description of how they broke it and what town they were from.
can't remember it... but it was a good laugh.

Apparently that was supposed to be an in-joke and not something for people to actually read, and then one of the other guys made the URL public and straightedge kids (lacking the sense of humor gland that you or I take for granted) took it seriously.
