Anyone know anything about this? I was talking to someone in Newbury Comics who said he got paroled last month (I think that's bullshit). I know he was apparently up for parole in April, but nothing has been reported on Burzum.org, or anywhere else. If true, I'll be looking forward to that new album he's going to be recording, and a few new books he's looking to publish.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at May 7,2008 1:41pm
I doubt he will make it after the station wagon GTA he did when he was on weekend release.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at May 7,2008 1:42pm
Burzum.org reads; "(28.10.2007)..about the date of Varg's parole. In 2006 Varg Vikernes failed to release from the prison. And the court session regarding this issue was then postponed to 2008. However there is still no particular information when or even whether this happens.."

i'm looking forward to his next arrest

toggletoggle post by mikeofdecrepitude at May 7,2008 1:51pm
You sound confident that he will in fact be arrested again?

toggletoggle post by FuckIsMySignature at May 7,2008 1:53pm
quite confident

toggletoggle post by mikeofdecrepitude at May 7,2008 1:54pm
Are you a betting man?

toggletoggle post by FuckIsMySignature at May 7,2008 1:55pm
i'd put a Guiness on it

toggletoggle post by mikeofdecrepitude at May 7,2008 1:57pm
Guinness and a shot? I'm in.

toggletoggle post by FuckIsMySignature at May 7,2008 2:00pm
Deal... i say within 3 months of release he goes back in for whatever dumbass shit he pulls next

toggletoggle post by thuringwethil at May 7,2008 2:02pm
we should make a Varg parole-o-meter

it can be a second-by-second gauge, like stock prices

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at May 7,2008 2:06pm
it would be the most boring stock ever.

endless stream of "not paroled"

toggletoggle post by mikeofdecrepitude at May 7,2008 2:15pm
Here’s my thing; I bet the Norwegian parliament will put forth another form of retroactive legislation that will keep him permanently behind bars.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at May 7,2008 2:42pm
I doubt that.
that's not the norwegian way.

toggletoggle post by aril at May 7,2008 2:45pm
he'll get murdered once he's released, depending when that'll be.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at May 7,2008 2:54pm
there are people who claimed that they didn't care if they had to wait 25 years to kill him. but 10 years are that, those people are married with kids or queer and into synthpop. they are too busy getting the kids to school or getting xtc and a bathroom cornholing to care. varg was out on weekends rather quickly and no one killed him. he will get out at somepoint and move into his parents basement, write music that no one cares about, and post stupid bullshit on the net that no one cares about. he will continue on like he is now making up stupid mystacism bullshit and retelling the same stories differently until someone believes him. he is and always was a poser toolbag. blackmetal's sid vicious.

toggletoggle post by mikeofdecrepitude at May 7,2008 3:11pm
Wait, write music that no one cares about? Yeah, I mean, he's only one of the most emulated musicians in Black Metal. Take Wolves in the Throne Room for example. They are completely opposed to his world/social views, yet they acknowledge him as one of their biggest influences, and it shows. There are things he has said that have been misconstrued, distorted, or even fabricated. So what if he doesn't have the same mentality or views as he did when he wrote Vargsmel? People constantly change and get wiser through experience and exposure to new information. He doesn't even post the information that arrives on Burzum.org, it's given second hand.

toggletoggle post by Yeti at May 7,2008 3:17pm
yeah i don't care about his political bullshit, just write music that kicks ass. i think he'll get out and vanish. i really hope he doesn't get out and become some washed up celebrity on every talk show. though that is more likely.

toggletoggle post by Yeti at May 7,2008 3:18pm
didn't the fag lead singer of Behemoth say something about killing him when he gets out?

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at May 7,2008 3:26pm
besides burzum and aske, I don't give a shit about his music. when I listen to it, I just think "whow, he riped off bathory, venom, and celtic frost"
wolves int he thrown room can say that burzum influenced them all they want. I see as some punk band saying blink182 was the punk band that like totally got them into punk.

toggletoggle post by aril at May 7,2008 3:31pm
i'd rather listen to forgotten woods than burzum

toggletoggle post by Yeti at May 7,2008 3:33pm
i'd rather listen to Burzum than half of the garbage that's out now. Burzum >>>>>>>> Mayhem.

toggletoggle post by thuringwethil at May 7,2008 3:33pm
I like Filosofem, but that's pretty much it

toggletoggle post by mikeofdecrepitude at May 7,2008 3:36pm
What you said about people not caring about his music is quite erroneous. If you think his material sounds like he blatantly ripped off those 3 bands, especially the material on Det Som Engang Var, Hvis Lyset Tar Oss, and Filosofem (especially these three albums); you're smoking something that I might (or might not) like to try. Yeah "War" is definitely a Bathory worship song in my opinion, but overall Burzum had its own unique sound. Come on, you say Venom? What the hell? I could have seen you saying Von, as opposed to Venom, I don't hear that at all in his music.

Burzum is some of the most hypnotic music ever concieved. It is the way art used to be: a reflection of the subconscious. Trance inducing and brilliant.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at May 7,2008 4:06pm
with all that said, I downloaded all the demos a few months ago and haven't gotten around to listening to them yet.
I just see him being like dissection and releasing something very anticipated and very terrible

toggletoggle post by CNV at May 7,2008 4:11pm
Pop it in your stereo on a dreary rainy day and cruise down the coast line. That's where I find it most effective.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at May 7,2008 4:19pm
I'm going to buy a new car stereo so I'll load it on my iPod and do just that.

where do you drive when you drive the coast line?
there are areas that mess up the nice drive... new castle/portsmouth block off york and newburyport blocks it to the south. though I love driving out on the reserve when it's not green head season.

Agreed... Burzum sounds nothing like Venom or Celtic Frost. I can hear the Viking era Bathory in it a lot though.

if you jump over ports/new castle, there are some awesome twisted roads up through yoke after long/short sands.
there are also a bunch of random abandoned forts up in new castle if you drive down the right roads.

Those old bunkers at the end of New Castle?

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at May 7,2008 4:57pm
yeah, it feels like you are walking around on the set of the original planet of the apes. tons of little bunks and stuff.

Behemoth are police informers.

If Vikernes is out, he probably will not tell anyone, and he's in for a shock when he sees what his Russian handlers have been up to.

I've heard that same thing about behemoth. if squealing got me on constant US tour I probably would do it too

toggletoggle post by quintessence  at May 8,2008 12:58am
wtf could Behemoth possibly inform police about? this is crazy haha. I gotta find more on it.

that is exactly what i love about it. i can't bring it to work on my headphones because i lose my ability to focus. Black Spell of Destruction is one of the most hypnotic songs ever.
