Price isnt a big deal - I've got up to like 1700 to spend on one.

Looking for something for general use - school stuff, gaming, LOL INTERNETS, the whole nine yards.

I am out of the loop w/ new lappys, but heres some features that I would want if I was gonna buy a new one.
7200rpm hard drive (fuck that 5200/4800 shit) firewire ports (because its faster at transferring large files then usb). If your going PC, beware of VISTA.(or make sure your games are compatible) Get one with a minimum 256mb video card. Battery life: if you plan on going mobile check that shit out (my sonyk23 has really shitty battery life,sad)

Yes. Even just a macbook. Sturdy, reliable, easy to use. I much prefer it to a pc.

wow, you guys either havent paid attention to anything since 2000 or you drink the coolaid. macs USED TO be good, but now are build on the same shitting intel hardware, but are 1 cycle behind and 2x more expensive. plus good like finding friends to pirate software with.
