http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kurt_Cobain

Kurt Donald Cobain (February 20, 1967 – April 5, 1994), was an American musician who served as lead singer, guitarist, and songwriter for the Seattle-based rock band Nirvana.

Cobain formed Nirvana in 1987 with Krist Novoselic. Within two years, the band became a fixture of the burgeoning Seattle grunge scene. In 1991, the arrival of Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit" marked the beginning of a dramatic shift of popular rock music away from the dominant genres of the 1980s (glam metal, arena rock, and dance-pop) and toward grunge and alternative rock. The music media eventually awarded the song "anthem-of-a-generation" status,[1] and, with it, Cobain was labeled a "spokesman" for Generation X.

During the last years of his life, Cobain struggled with drug addiction and the media pressures surrounding him and his wife, Courtney Love. On April 8, 1994, Cobain was found dead in his home in Seattle, the victim of what was officially ruled a self-inflicted shotgun wound to the head. In ensuing years, the circumstances of his death became a topic of fascination and debate.

Sadly, the damage was already done.

Dwyer, what's the occasion?

I must admit I like his songs a lot.

I went to a rockin' house party that day. Apparently, these people had to go to PA for a funeral (grandpa kicked the bucket), so the girl who was housesitting thought it'd be a swell idea to have a huge party, and we all thought it'd be an even better idea to completely destroy the house for when they came back.

i blame kurt cobain for afi, my chemical romance, story of the year, etc.

if he didn't whine all the time we wouldn't have any of this faggoty ass "woe is me" shit that is flooding every media outlet

mmm, not entirely to blame. i'd say the Cure and Morrisey are more to blame for that fag rock

toggletoggle post by thuringwethil at Apr 5,2008 9:29am
I met him in Boston when he was cheating on Courtney with Mary Lou Lord. He was a nice enough guy.

plus you might as well say certain delta blues, Billie Holliday, and Beatles songs are "woe is me."

I do attribute his influence to Christian rock shit turds like Creed, though

toggletoggle post by mOe  at Apr 5,2008 9:31am
no care ever...any band that uses Nirvana as a main influence smells of shit to me. I didnt like this band when I was a kid when they came out and I dont like them now that I've grown up. The guy just ripped off the underrated, lesser known post punks bands of the time anyway. Listen to Killing Joke's "80s" and you'll see what I'm talking about.

Bleach and Nevermind are great releases.

Krist Novoselic did most of the talking. Cool guy.

fact: kurt cobain and layne staley both died on my birthday

toggletoggle post by thuringwethil at Apr 5,2008 11:18am

Pantera is super gay.

Oh wait wrong band.

toggletoggle post by kadoogetnam at Apr 5,2008 11:50am
What are your reasons for shitting on Pantera again, Dwyer?

Influenced a million shitty bands? hmmm...

Ripped off lesser known bands and got famous off it? hmmmmmmm...

So what's the attraction to Nirvana?

toggletoggle post by mOe  at Apr 5,2008 11:51am
iiiiiinteresting

toggletoggle post by AUTOPSY_666   at Apr 5,2008 11:54am
NIRVANA were good, PANTERA weren't.

toggletoggle post by thuringwethil at Apr 5,2008 12:00pm
I agree.
but this debate will keep going in circles. Oh well. it's just a matter of opinion

toggletoggle post by mOe  at Apr 5,2008 12:04pm
NO, Pantera sucks!
NO, Nirvana sucks!
(repeat)

but seriously though, Nirvana were horrid

toggletoggle post by sinistas   at Apr 5,2008 12:19pm
Unplugged in NY is one of my favorite live albums.

toggletoggle post by mOe  at Apr 5,2008 12:24pm
oh god, i know all of those songs by heart because i've probably heard that album 3,000+ times and none of those by choice

Moronic Crowdist.

toggletoggle post by unholy_dave at Apr 5,2008 12:50pm
i like all the albums. nevermind is actually my least favorite. i think i might actually like in utero the best.

toggletoggle post by kadoogetnam at Apr 5,2008 12:50pm
Cobain was a good songwriter. That's about it. I can appreciate that at face value but when it comes down to listening to them, I can't.

I'll be the first to admit that I like Pantera, used to LOVE Pantera. Not so much anymore, but I do still enjoy their albums from time to time.

And I just love to bust Dwyer's balds - er - I mean balls.

toggletoggle post by Conservationist  at Apr 5,2008 12:59pm
Kurt Cobain loved a dick in the mouth. Unlike other faggots, he specialized in reverse cowgirl anal violation by large negro drag queens. What really kept Kurt up at night, though, was having every orifice plugged by fat Irish balls while a midget Mexican whipped his ass with yarn.

Just fucking up your keywords so the page ads are twisted. Right now it says "Gulf Hurricane Relief," which is totally boring unless it's an ANAL HURRICANE.

In Utero was a very heavy, very noisey album. Nobody rips this record off and they should.

yeah cause limp bizkit and korn and the spice girls really were such a better choice.

i mean creed, live, bush i mean totally destroyed anything nirvana put out.

goodthing moby, coolio and collective soul were around to save the music once nirvana was gone.
