En route. Party like a werewolf. You gonna be shooting any of the megasykk pit action at the Till We Poop show upstairs, Rev?

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Mar 29,2008 8:27pm
yes, upstairs.. downstairs like on sesame street. mm... sesame.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Mar 29,2008 9:02pm
so far upstairs I've seen eyes sqqqwn shut, one false solution, and chapter 50

warbringer: these guys need to tour with municipal waste. The best tshirt of the show was the sacrifice shirt their guitarist had on. Very refreshing to see 17 yos headbanging to quality thrash. Especially with the high number of low-brow nu-metal bands that I see every other show. And least you forget that the front row for them are diehards that will be here in front for the whole show.

unexpect: spazzy and more people on stage than 2 of the other bands combined. The most eclectic band on the stage by far. Of course metal dooouchebags were making fun of them retarded. These guys should be creamed over. Ridiculous musicians all around and fun music. Seeing a mosh pit for them was the best. If anything, make fun of them for being from canada... Eh.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Mar 29,2008 10:48pm
faceless, the: "oh hi, we are faceless and we upgraded our singer" the new dude was better than what I remember from the old dude. He's also so metal. He looks like he could be in gojira oooor a mini-version of goatwhore. Im probably going to get hatemail for saying that... But bring it. The dude was goood. The keys were mixed really well too. The one dude that I recognized was that one guitarist stage left.

suicide silence: sooo heavy downstairs. I know that a lot of people don't like their music here, but they put on a great show. The dudes just headbang constantly. (Headbanging + long hair + my camera) * pr^2 = circumference of money shots. That's just the way it goes hommies. Kids in the audience reallly liked them too. I hppe they all read this and then go out and by devourment 138. People should probably think of "these sorts of bands" as gateway drugs for heavier, older music. like don't just tell their fans that hey are gay, give them a CDr of similar music and change some minds. </rant>

Yeah, I never took Suicide Silence serious until I saw a live video, solid review Rev.
Wish I had some cash!

toggletoggle post by i_am_lazy at Mar 30,2008 1:32am
I wish I could've caught Unexpect. The only reason I would've seen this show tonight.

toggletoggle post by Goatcatalyst   at Mar 30,2008 2:00am
Nile was great. How in the christing fuck they get Marshalls to sound like THAT, I'll never know.

they usually sound terrible downstairs, but this time it sounded fantacular.

I agree...they sounded really good this time.

Suicide Silence is alright, but they do put on a good show. Pissed that I missed this one. Why so many locals? If I knew they were looking I would have tried to get on.

They were playing a separate show upstairs.

I was going to go to this show, until friday when my friends at high school decided to bombard me with the quintessential:

"HAY MAN ARE YOU GOING TO SEE SUICIDE SILENCE TONITE LOL THEY ARE SIC!111"

I figure that nile will survive the deathcore craze and I can see them without dealing with these cocksuckers someday.

Nile was asbolutely incredible. Anyone who didn't go to this show really missed out. Just amazing.

I didn't care for the tokenness of Suicide Silence, or the Faceless really, but I thought Unexpect was fantastic. I agree with Rev, excellent musicianship and stage presence. It's too bad close minded kids were disrespectful to them. It's cool to have different kinds of bands sharing the bill.

NILE \m/

i feel bad for unexpect being on this tour. such a good band, and all theyre probably getting is heckled all tour long.

This was sick. Nile put on a great show and dead on about the sound....FINALLY so much better. I was pleasently surprised with Unexpect as well. They are probably on the wrong tour, but I'm sure as hell glad I got to see em.

toggletoggle post by i_am_lazy at Mar 30,2008 9:21pm
Nile actually audible for once?

toggletoggle post by GoatCatalyst   at Mar 30,2008 9:29pm

I was going to say -- it appears that the Palladium took the Mark's Showplace route on this one with 38275483749439324 bands.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Mar 31,2008 11:02am
no, this was 2 SHOWS PEOPLE
bernie put one on upstairs.
nile played downstairs.

toggletoggle post by archaeon at Mar 31,2008 11:02am
5 of those bands were on a different show, second stage.

you could have just shown up late i guess if you didnt want to see the other bands, unexpect rawks though.

the only "bad" thing about suicide silence and the myspace fame is the fact that their tour manager checks how many fans you have on myspace before deciding if you can play with the band or not. that is kind of wack.

toggletoggle post by archaeon at Mar 31,2008 1:47pm
I know that on the earache website for demo submissions or whatnot, they only ask what your myspace is and how many views you have, dumb.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Mar 31,2008 1:52pm
myspace is no dane cook... but it's ok.

We have sooo many myspace friends that Suicide Silence should be begging to play with us!
i mean they did steal the riff too "Veggies" in their new song.... hmmmm

they should start doing metal shows at the Hanover Theater

toggletoggle post by quintessence  at Mar 31,2008 3:43pm
Every palladium show I am amazed by just how young and ugly the front rows of people are. It makes me feel old (and handsome)..

toggletoggle post by FuckIsMySignature at Mar 31,2008 3:45pm
i'd rather stand at the bar than the front row anyways

toggletoggle post by quintessence  at Mar 31,2008 3:49pm
Oh so would I. Who wants loads of unwashed 15 year old bodies rubbing all up on your shit? Also the sound blows up front. Vox go way over your head.

toggletoggle post by FuckIsMySignature at Mar 31,2008 3:53pm
you have to stand directly behind the soundboard to hear the best mix. also the balcony isnt bad.

toggletoggle post by Guest at Mar 31,2008 11:51pm
If anyone was at Bernie's show, it was a decent show. A mix of bands but in the end of the night that band OneInVain did a good job and had the crowd going. I loved their sound, it's different. I'm gonna follow these guys. Who else was there?

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Apr 1,2008 12:10am
one in vain had a pretty packed house and when they got on the stage the crowd cheered very loudly.

toggletoggle post by ouchdrummer   at Apr 9,2008 1:24pm
I stood were i always do for warbringer/unexpect. (right in front of the bar) Great view, not too hot sound. I kinda liked unexpect although the feeling of the room hating them kinda killed any energy they had. I went down to the row right before the floor for the faceless. I love them. They were great, Nevine is real real good. Not just sick blasts, but sick blasts that actually have a pocket, you can tell he does it with a metranome. Suicide Silence wasnt too bad at all, although in that genre the drums have to be outta control for me to REALLY like em.. a la Despised Icon. Nile was every bit as wonderful as every time i see em. although i couldnt hear nearly as well as other people are saying they could.

And i know it makes me sound like an excited schoolgirl saying it like this, but i got to sit on the bus with the faceless and the drummer from unexpect. I got to talk about all their influences, how touring worked as far as what the labels will and wont do for a touring band, honestly, I must have asked 75 questions. They were super cool about it though. I also got to smoke some of my Sensei Star from the old Cannabis club in cali with em. Little taste of home they said. And since smoking pot is a RELIGIOUS act for me, it was about the greatest meeting of a band that i love ever....maybe, almost as good as meeting Daney Carey and SELLING him pot at harpers farry when he played with "Pigme love Circus."
