how to set your wireless internet options to where you need to put in a password or some shit. As the internet goes slower when the whole neighborhood can use it.
ok first thing you open a command line...to do that go to START ---> RUN and then type "cmd"...once that screen opens...
type:
ipconfig
that will tell you what your gateway address is
then open a web browser and type in those numbers...
then you'll get a pop up a message asking you to enter in a password...if you never set a password there...i think the password is either password or admin...let me try to look it up...i will post more in a sec
you're not fucked...on the wireless router there is a RESET button...it's located in the back of the router...hold it in for 10 seconds..count 1 mississippi, 2 mississippi...to 10...then let go and you will have reset the password to the factory default...
when you get to the log in and password again...after you reset it..
try blank log in and the word password for the password...or admin for both the login and password...let me know ...
ok well i hope it does work...once you are able to get to that screen..you go to the "wireless" tab, click on wireless security, and then set up a passphrase...whatever word you want...and then click on "generate"....then write down the first set of characters....that is what you will use to connect to your secured wireless.
