New site? Maybe some day.
Because they suck now. I'd say I'd rather listen to Covenant (.dk) but I'd be lying. I'll stick with Nexus Polaris and In Times Before the Light. The rest is waste. |
covenant is a EBM band...
like faint-ish.
I saw them in 97 in NYC and um.. 2001 in cambridge |
Electronic Black Metal. Personally, I think Animatronic is a wonderful album, possibly in my top 10. |
um... not... EBM is Electric Body Music
it's a dance offshoot of industrial.
close to synth-pop, but not quite as gay |
Aka techno. It's okay to just say they're techno, I'll know what you mean. |
Electronic Body Music aye? I would say they are more Electronic Black Metal, which can use the same acronym, so, haha, i am the cock of the lock. |
Kovenant maybe
but Covenant is total EBM |

I havn't heard Covenant, not the one you are refering to or the Kovenant when they were Covenant. Wow this is confusing. |
maybe click on the link pecker brain.
when kovenant was Covenant, they were actually called Covenant (uk) for legal reasons from the "other" Covenant.
got it? |
I thought the EBM Covenant was Covenant (UK) and K/Covenant was Covenant (Nor). I read a demo review of another Covenant in an old Terrorizer, I think they were black/death or necro black. Either way, havn't heard from them since so it doesn't much matter. |
Way to be wrong when I'm right, skittle. |
No, the Norweigen Covenant changed their name to The Kovenant so as not to be confused with Covenant, a band from Sweden. If there is also a Covenant from UK, then I have never heard of them. |
'Nuff said. |
i'm the dork that owns a few covenant CD's.
hooray for EBM. |
two words... mirrors paradise |
I'm the d0rk...
I've seen the EBM covenant 2x and the "black metal" kovenant 1x
plus, I had every covenant cd at one point but lost the 2 earlier discs. |

HA! Now that was just awesome. Who cares about Kovenant anyways? They only have a few good songs... |

Yes hybrid that song kicks ass! That whole CD kicks ass. |
in my opinion in times before light is the only good covenant album. |
in my opinion anyone who says that kovenant has only one or two good albums does not understand of music at all |

2 different bands... hence the name change to K |

duh...I've got a clue who Covenant is....the band that released a decent album named "Sequencer" |
This thread is so confusing. Are there two bands or three?? I will give album examples to refer to each one. I thought that the Covenant from Norway (Nexus Polaris) changed there name to the Kovenant (Animatronic) so as not to be confused with a Swedish band called Covenant (no clue about any album names). |
Nexus is one of my all time favorites!! Id much rather listen to that than most of the well known black metal cd's. Well thats just me, but yea i think their newest album was shit. The one before that was pretty good though, it was a hell of a lot more metal than SETI. |
Seti is crap. Animatronic was crap. Nexus Polaris is almost perfect. In Times Before the Light is good. I don't know how different the post-Kovenant-change ITBtL re-release is from the original. |
I havn't heard any of their albums except Animatronic, but I like that album a fair deal. |
Nexus will make you puke up Animatronic and flush it down a cancerous toilet. |
I do hear Nexus is incredibly good, but wasn't that when they were black metal? if that is the case, then I would probably not really compare the two albums since they are two different genres of music. |
I'd say it's as far from black metal as Dimmu'll be in 2-3 years. |
Dimmu are pretty far from black metal I agree, but I still love Death Cult (I know you find that album pretty bland). I like the orchestra on their newer stuff. That I think makes up for the lack of interesting guitar parts. |
Wow, that was a complete digression of the topic. So, wait, Nexus isn't black metal? |
It's not traditional black metal by any means. Like I said, to me it's a step or two more accessible than current Dimmu, except it's really good. Bottom line is you gotta hear it for yourself. |
the other covenant band is a techo-goth band not to bad, one of the only tech groups i don't want to kill, their album "Northern Lights" is one of my favorites |
Kovenant only has one black metal album and that was In time before the light. Nexus is more of a progressive/ thrash/melodic death metal album with keyboards and black metal vocals.I dont really expect most people here would like any of their albums after that. |
Covenant's CDs sequencer and theramin where ok.
they are COMPLETE EBM.
I've seen them 2x (once in 97 in nyc and one in 2001-ish in boston) I wasn't allowed to take pictures for some reason.
I like their Final Man cd... reminds me of the faint. |
