I think racism in the tool of the rich elite to separate lower class minorities from uniting in a struggle to overthrow the oppressive robber-baron class.

It's like, there's something wrong in your life you blame it on the nigga or the whitey you see in the same city, same level as you. All the blacks are stealing jobs! or you say all the white people make more money than us!

but you don't realize it's the rich who make tons of money off of both of you

it's been the biggest fear of the ruling class that all lower class ethnicities should unite in a single group

that's why during major labor strikes the companies would often hire blacks as strikebreakers, those who would cross the picket line and work therefore making the strike ineffective. This would fuel racism.
