Ok i am posting from my iPod touch...my laptop decided to turn off and I don't know how to get it to turn on. I didn't drop it hard but it slipped out of my hands and was subjected to some movement. After fifteen minutes it powered off and I can't turn it back on. It bsods on me a couple of times a month.. But that's it. The battery is fine but it still won't turn on. I don't even see the power or battery indicator lights. I tried removing the battery using ac only and battery only but nothing happens. I unscrewed and rescrewed everything in case something was loose. Anyone care to offer other suggestions? Tia

you mean the one you used and that has been booting up for a while and is still configuring updates...but I would like help on getting my main Lappy turned on...I wanted to synch my touch dammit
ps what did u do to my other laptop?

it was on a box right behind where you are probably sitting. the vista one.

the funny thing is that it's about a yr and a month old...and my friend also got a laptop at the same time...and hers is having issues (totally different issues but still)...of course right after the warranty period ends

try to power it on with the battery removed and just the ac adapter plugged in

also what do you mean subjected to movement? like did it hit your lap from the table or what?

nope...no sounds and it slipped off my lap onto the sofa. I thought maybe it was too hot but many hours later still nothing.

i had a similar problem twice and the hardrive had actually slipped off the connector inside one time... the other time the power came off the board and needed to be re soldered. The HD thing was weird because you would think it would at least turn on.. but it didnt.

one of her old laptops is missing the hard drive cradle so it sometimes does that.

well turns out i got a free 3 yr extended warranty. dell is ocming to my place and installing a new motherboard
