neither of those bands should be opening for napalm death.

toggletoggle post by Dankill at Dec 13,2007 10:39pm
The fact that all of those bands usually pull much more then 200 people and have shows that resemble prison riots tells me they are not gonna be happy March 28th.
Please someone get Barney on a fascist rant towards Mark's and TNT.

On a sidenote, if Devildriver is headlining over Napalm Death, I'm offically pissed.

The only thing worse than Devildriver is a Devildriver fan. Fuck this show. Hopefully Napalm Death cancels due to having something more useful to do -- like staying home.

Devildriver headlining is indeed shitty, but at least you don't have to sit through their set to see Napalm.

Hopefully I can make this show, but I'm gonna hold out for a show elsewheres. I've never been to Mark's, but I'm gonna take everyone on the board's word for it that it's a shit venue.

No, they just trend-jumped when the nu-metal craze died, now they are a metal-core band, because it is now cool to sound like LOG and KSE. This action is gayer than just staying as a lame nu-metal band.

exactly. i'd have more respect for dez frafrafrafra if he stuck to his guns instead of hopping to the next trend. i liked when the hell within guy got mad at me for saying his band was part of the "devildriver effect", which is the jump from nu-metal to the next mainstream metal trend.

I don't see how anyone could fully enjoy a Napalm Death show at Mark's. Going nuts while they play is almost mandatory. I saw them for the first time back in '05 or something at the Palladium when they opened for Obituary....the place was about half full, plenty of room to move around and that show was one of the few I've been to where I actually felt like going berzerk. Lots of fun.
At Mark's, everyone will be expected to stand motionless and sober, staring at the band like idiots and quietly and politely applaud after each song. Fuck that, I'd love to see Napalm again, but not at Mark's.

their old singer wanted to fight me because i wasn't a fan of his band but i was more worried for the kadoogan because everyone in the band was threatening him. they were going to beat him with a cue ball in a sock or something like that after teaching drivers ed. all because he said he found a copy of their numetal cd in the trash and didn't like their music. so don't tell frafrafrafra i'm not a fan of his band, or he may attack me in the future with a cue ball sock.

Wait a tick..........According to WOJ's myspace tour list, this tour will hit the Palladium on March 27th.
If this is true, anyone wanting to go see this tour can tell Mark's to go screw by going to Worcester instead.

Depending on whats going on and how bored I am, if the show is going to be at the Palladium, I might be willing to sit through Anal Driver if I can see Napalm Death again.

How can anyone be upset Napalm death is playing before Devildriver.....I might go to this if I have money for Napalm Death and then leave....either go home and sleep or go to a bar and think...boy Napalm Death were great....if they headlined I'd still be at that shit venue....and I would have had to see an awful band.

not sold out.
napalm death has a HUGE set of shirts.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Mar 28,2008 7:16pm
fighting urge to get napalm death merch...

anger rising: the singer was the drummer (most of the time). That is always an interesting feat. They actually were too bad. Good riffs, standard metal. Metallica-ish, but in that same way that byzantine is metallica-ish. They had a bunch of technically issues with straps, etc... The crowd stayed a plague's length away from the band for most of the set. The non-singing guitarist went out into the floor a bunch and tried to scare people up to the front. By the middle of their set, the floor tension broke and there were people right in the front. I guess they are also on screaming ferret records.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Mar 28,2008 8:14pm
Trypmind: they played a sepultura song that i think they played the last time i saw them, refuse/resist. That was the highlight of their set. The rest just sounded like that perfect circle band. I mean they are tight and all, but it's not anything that i would listen to. Excesive use of echo pedals.

toggletoggle post by FuckIsMySignature at Mar 28,2008 8:20pm
haha Trypmind

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Mar 28,2008 8:30pm
straight line stitch: they werent originally oon the bill so i guess they are playing the show for free. Metalcore with clean vocals. The singer is a double rarity in metal bands, a woman and black. The music was standard most of the time, unearth-ish metalcore, but the girl was able to do harmonies that were didnt sound gay. I mean gay as in homosexual there. Not any other way. They have a very polished sound to them and it makes sensible that they are on kooch or whatever. The no moshing rule is back in effect. I heard them warning people as they came in.

invitro: since they are swapping drumsets this took forever. Once they were ready, they came out in tinfoil helmets and lab coats. I believe that they are some sort of scientist. Once they finished the first song, they took off the nutty professor gear and just looked like any other nu-metal band. This band is definitely differnet. The vocals are all over the place. It actually reminds me a little of lawnmowerdeth. I feel bad dragging that band's name in the mud, but some times the vocals are a sped up jello biafra... Others are just.. Idk...
there were people who left right after them.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Mar 28,2008 9:23pm

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Mar 28,2008 10:11pm
36 crazyfist: huh, i was a amazed that they had such a glassjaw/deftones sound to them. I dont remember if ive seen them or not, but i just always figured they were a nu-metal band. Guess i was wrong in theory. I mean, come on... That's a lot of freaking fists for a non-nu-metal band. The entiire crowd sang along for them. It was sort of ridiculous to be honest. Not sure if i actually like them or not... Probably no but it was still entertaining. They also played some musical bass. I mean like musical chairs, but of the bass. For their second to last song, they had a circle pit.

ND is on right now. who has an ear to ear grin? that would be me!

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Mar 28,2008 11:13pm
napalm death: what fucking universe is this? People around me are bitching about having to sit through napalm death to see dd. The crowd thinned a bit when they went on. Cool for me cause i was able to move around a lot more. They basically played all the song they have been playing on recent tours plus two "new" songs. I will have to look at the set list, but i think they removed punishment tracks. Anyhow, they were awesome. When i was on the other side of the stage, there were 2 hot topic girls beside me grinding together and all the creepy dudes there were just staring at them. I could see them staring, this meant they totally missed the song suffer the children. One of ND's finest. The last 1/2 of their set, i was over on the side of the stage with mark rocking out from breed to breath until the end. i sound probably leave now and give night a taco bell happpy ending stat...
instead, im going to bare a short witness to people yelling "you people dont have any idea. devildriver is coming"

People actually thought they had to sit through ND to wait for devildriver? That's retarded. You shouldn't think you have to. You should know you want to, and then just leave right after because no one cares about Devildriver.

Would have gone for Napalm, but a sick week this week means I need to be careful with my money, because that means two weeks of living on a $300 check.
