well the short of it is

originally were were 3 to last on the meliah show
that show got postponed cause of snow
the rescedualed date came up and i inquired if we were on it still
he said yea but that he was moving band X to our spot cause they sold 90tix(keep in mind he has changed the # they have sold inevery e mail i have got from him about this so my guess is he lieing) and he wanted to have em on later to make sure that their fans got to see em
naturally i was pissed over this and posted this under my show posts in message boards I UNDERSTAND IF YOU DON'T COME TO THIS SHOW JARROD'S IS GAY

That dude's a pea brain. We had a show a couple of years ago down there. I remember it was Sunday of a holiday weekend but I forget which holiday. Something like Patriots Day or one of those. So we show up to the club with all of our gear in tow to find out the show had been cancelled. No call, no email. The reason for the cancellation was stupid too. He figured that since it was the Sunday of a holiday weekend, there would be no draw. I think maybe he and some of his staff wanted the day off. Anyways, he 'makes it up to us' by giving us an opening slot for a national emo rock band and three emo and/or radio nu-metal local bands. The national wanked for so long during the soundcheck (over an hour and a half!) that our set got reduced to 15 minutes. ...and, we had to scramble during setup and breakdown because we were 'on the clock'. Needless to say, we've never been back. Fuck that place.

question: has jarrod's ever had a "draw"?
all the shows I've seen there had ~12 people.
the max ammount of people being when I saw hirudinea there oct 2002.
they had more people there than anal blast.

Jarrod's place is ridiculous.
Tell him you are keeping the tickets and the money.
You didn't sign any contract with him, so he can't do anything.
It would be awesome if BOE was the band that changed Jarrod's policy.

Their sound guy sucks, the last show I ever booked there was Disengaged, Red Invasion, and Kevorkian's Angels.
This was right after I signed KA, but before their CD had come out and before I had completely taken over Boston so I just took shows I could get.

Each band was suppose to get 45 minutes.

Disengaged got 16 minutes, then the gay sound guy (who is in Beyond Repair and can die slowly) turned off their mics and turned on background music. Jim videotaped it so I can prove how short their set was. He stopped them in the middle of a song.

Red Invasion played for a little over 25 minutes, only because the sound guy was nowhere to be found and shut them off as soon as he was done taking it in the ass.

Kevorkian's Angels got about 20 minutes, when they asked the guy not to keel flashing the strobe light he got mad and keep turning their vocal mics off, and when they went to do a Ramones cover he turned them off.

That was the last time I decided to ever do anything there, and I also refuse to ever do anything with Beyond Repair.

i have seen shows with decent draws there but nuthing all too great

i think if he's there and dosen't like a band he has the sound guy stop em

I agree Jim. I saw you guys with Gortory/Wasteform this summer down there. It's the only club I've been to where it feels like the staff hates the bands. The whole selling tickets shit sucks enough as it is and it's queer that they make it a competition to determine lineup spots.

Right on REV! I wish I had a place where I could just book a show whenever the hell I feel like. Due to me being a college student, I almost never have money, so putting on just BEF is a hard time each year. I say we get a crew together, go down to Jarrod's, and force him to sign the deal over to people who will actually be able to do something with that place...maybe even cover up BARE WIRES! Fucking unprofessional shitheads I tell ya.

Here's my Jarrod's Place story...

2 summers ago, Upon Crimson Wings played a show there. At first we were added on to some show they were having, just local metal bands. A week or 2 before the show, after selling some tickets and promoting the shit out of it, we got word that the show was to be rescheduled. Joel, the sound guy/bookie at the time, emailed me and said if I wanted, I could have FULL control of booking, so I took the duty. Got like 7 bands that could have gotten at least like 150 kids in there, then I get an email that says "Ok you and If Tomorrow Comes will be playing with these rock bands...you can get 1 more band on there." That pissed me off, after I had promised bands they could play. I gave him some shit, but not in a bitchy way...just trying to make him feel like a putz, heh heh. So then, the fucking day before the show he emails me and says: "Due to Father's Day weekend we're going to have to reschedule the show. Our staff wants it off and I didn't even think of it." We FINALLY got to play the fucking show (almost 3 months after the original date), and the sound guy had no clue what he was doing, turned the bass monitor all the way up so our drummer could only hear bass, there were bare wires everywhere, fucked up micstands that he accused ME of fucking up, and not to mention that guy had the WORST breath EVER.

personally i don't buy any of the crap he was telling me if you read the inital e mail i think he made the switch to make us drop off i was told by somone who works there that he dosen't like b.o.e. e even accused b.o.e. for trashing the dressing room when anal blast played there and we never even went in it
