For those of you that have never heard Beautiful Gorgeous, the band members proclaim their music to be of a "rock nature” (though people seeking a genus might begin to feel the inclination to call them Grindcore).

When I hear stuff that's ultra technical, I don't even hear music really, I just hear a bunch of people showing off what they can do on their instruments. These don't even really sound like songs, just a bunch of random shred parts stapled together. It's ten times worse with Psyopus than this band. Wankery doesn't make music.

I dig it....not so much the name, but the tunes

because all music is completely carried by guitar and bass. if you plan on giving a half-assed review pretending you know what you are talking about, at least give the band the pleasure of doing a bad job at describing the drums and vocals too. not everybody that listens to this stuff plays guitar, or any instrument for that matter. it doesn't matter what chords or fundamentals are used whether the band knows what they are or not. . good songs can be really simple, and bad songs can be really complex. bad songs can have a strong underlying structure, and good songs can have almost-no structure. what is important is the impact. if a band doesn't make my head explode because of how the music makes me feel, then it is just not worth listening to. but give everything a chance, even if there is literally nothing on the track, if you get a strong vibe, it's a damn good song.

This is some of the sloppiest, saddest, most unprofessional sounding music that I have ever heard. I don't care who wants to defend them, how they want to defend them, or why they want to defend them; plain and simple, this is horrific. I'm all for a band doing what they want to do, and I appreciate the fact that they claim that they don't care if someone doesn't like it, but this is ridiculous. There is no flow to any of the music, transitions (where there are transitions) are half-assed, overall technique and chops seem like a crapshoot, and any groove and/or rhythm that they capture just disappears within mere seconds. If it is their intention to create music with the aforementioned qualities (or lack there of), then it's a stupid idea. I'd like to see what sort of compelling argument I can get tossed at me aside from the usual "lol, you just don't understand it" bullshit.

For the record, even if this band had the best name ever, my opinion would stay the same. Beautiful Gorgeous is a bad name, and they make bad music, so it suits them well.
